Can Miami approach 2019 LSU

That’s not true the only decent team they played in those first games was Texas, which was not that impressive at the time.
I was comparing their whole season vs what we’ve done so far. Still, 2019 Texas was still better than anyone we’ve played.

Those numbers look great but then look at the rushing statistics for everyone else and the total team numbers. Like I said earlier, Burrow was their second leading rusher. As a team they were very average. Of course, who cares about having a rushing offense in the 60’s when you’re passing for 400 yards a game and scoring almost 50 a game?

Not one time did an opponent totally shut down their passing game and they had to rely on running the ball to win.
If u have a 1400 yard rusher on 6.6 a carry why focus on the other rushers lol?

What made their offense historically great is the best passing game ever but also having a 1400 yard rusher. The run game doesn’t have to be great or be the main course but you need to have it to sustain drives and score consistently week to week.

Literally **** near every modern natty winner has multiple 700-900 yard backs or a 1k plus yard back. Its essential to all great offenses and teams

I was more looking at their entire schedule cs what we have done so far. I would have to assume their numbers were even more ridiculous against the weaker portion of their early schedule and actually came back a bit when competition improved.

I figured. But that’s the insane part, not really. He lit every single team up like a Christmas tree

Imagine if we had one of these sh*tty anemic slow Offenses that just hands the ball off every other play, while dinking & dunking to oblivion...

The most successful season we've had in a decade + is upon us & its because we have an Elite QB who puts that fckin Football IN THE AIR & an OC who ain't afraid to send that sh*t.

THIS is Miami Football; not that "tUfF & fiZZiCuLL!" Bullsh*t tryna be some weak *** Midwestern B1G team.
Certainly the most fun team to watch in 2 decades.

If one running back on our team got 90% of the carries we’d have a 1400 yard rusher too. My point being that Miami fans are complaining about our run offense when statistically it’s better than 2019 LSU’s run offense by a pretty big margin.

As a team Miami is averaging 193 yards and 5.9 yards per carry.

2019 LSU averaged 167 yards and 4.9 yards per carry

We wouldn’t have a 1400 yard rusher lol but i get your point

And this is where context enters, it counts so im not taking away from the players but majority of our rush yards as a team is coming from garbage times vs ball st famu usf. We would have to make that comparison later on because our numbers are inflated

Joey Burreaux thru 6 games in 2019:

148/186 (79.5% completions), 2157 yards, 25 TD, 3 INT
176 rushing with 2 TDs

Cameron Ward thru 6 games in 2024:

148/214 (69% completions), 2219 yards, 20 TDs, 5 INTs
161 rushing with 3 TDs

Joey B was just unfair that year, for real.

That's the issue. Our schedule doesn't compare to LSU 2019 schedule.

We should be able to put up big numbers based on the talent level disparity.
We have played similar or tougher competition in the first 6 games of the season and still have eclipsed their numbers. Well the the 6th game of the season they played a top 10 ranked uf team. Texas was top 10 when they played but finished 7-5

However, UF finished in the top 10, along with Bama. And, Auburn finished top 15. Their postseason schedule was loaded (UGA, Oklahoma, and Clemson)

We haven't played anyone ranked yet. And our remaining schedule going to involve teams beating up each other in conference play.

Too bad we don't play Clemson, Pitt and SMU in the regular season. Therefore, we just have to keep winning. I don't care about the margin, just win lol.

I’m just referring to the schedule played thus far in the first 6 games

I know. And, we're not going to play anyone that going to better than florida and/or that Texas team either.

Texas finished 25th in 2019.
