Cam Ward | #HE1SMAN Campaign

After watching last night. I think it’s Hunter and Ward to loose.

Jeanty is really good and has great numbers, but after last night I don’t think he gets the award.

To me, the Heisman should go to the most dominate/clear best player. Jeanty is really really good, but last night he didn’t make the game look easy.

That’s where Cam would be my clear pick. He clearly is the best QB in the country. Makes the game look easy and probably impacts the game more than any player in the country.

I have to give credit to Hunter because what he is doing is just that un heard of. But if I were a voter, and Miami bias aside, team success matters.

If he gets back to previous weeks numbers and we get to Charlotte, it’s his to loose. IMO

“Ever since he’s been playing especially football and basketball, we’ve always taught him the mindset that you play until the clock goes to zero,” Calvin Ward said. “And when the clock goes to zero, if you want to feel sorry for yourself, you feel sorry for yourself. But the game isn’t over until the clock says zero. So, he’s always had that as his mindset. And at the quarterback position, I always taught him that regardless of what the score is, unless someone is looking at the scoreboard, they should never be able to know what the score is by looking at you. In other words, don’t get too high, don’t get too low, just keep battling until the clock goes to zero. And he’s done that, ever since he was a little kid.”

As to how he’d like to see the next few weeks play out, Ward says he’s not finished making headlines.

There are still things he wants for himself and goals he’s set.

But more importantly, there are things he wants for the Miami Hurricanes.

“Hopefully, [there’s] a couple trophies. A couple individual trophies … a lot of team trophies and most importantly, helping every guy on this team have those memories. Cherish them forever. Even Coach Cristobal tells us a lot of people on this team won’t be on a team like this [again]. The talent like this, the camaraderie that we have, you don’t get this chance every season. So, we’re all just trying to take advantage of the moment and hopefully, it ends with us holding up that trophy at the end of the year.”

Still scratching my head why Hunter is the odds on favorite. I get he is a special player. But he is not putting up record breaking numbers on either side of the ball. I am happy to take off my orange and green glasses to have the explained to me. And get the heck out of hear with Gabriel. That trophy should always go to the player that makes his team better and pops off as best player on field. Gabriel does not do that.

How does his season compare to Woodson at Michigan? I was too young

***This is a great, more in depth story about Cam's growth and development as a QB. Photos supplied by his famility, etc are really awesome. By Christy Chirinos.

This young man has already left his mark on the Miami Hurricanes football program and he, and the program, deserve all the accolades that come their way.

No one was putting out the offensive numbers like QB's are today. That was a different era. Yes, if Hunter played then and was doing what he is now, he wins easily. But again, different era. We all know you can't win without a big time QB in today's game. So to me it always goes to the best QB on a winning team. That man is Ward.

PR. The Media bowed to Deon immediately. TR is probably setting the record for snaps and is actually good on both sides. Hype train never really left for him.

Over and over I hear "this year it shouldn't go to a QB. But if so it should go to Cam."

That's code for a lack of superstars in big moments. Cam is a star but we aren't playing anybody relevant in primetime to solidify his place.

Addendum: that's why being in the SEC would be better. Our dramatics come against Cal and Louisville. ACC is not **** at all.

Woodson was definitely more CB than WR where Hunter seems to be dang near 50/50 BUT iirc, Michigan won the Natty the year Woodson took home the Heisman. Being on the #1 team definitely helped.

Randy Moss was the most dominant player in the country though at Marshall.
