Cam Ward a Finalist for the Heisman.

Congrats to Cam!

Man, we were thisclose to a dream season. It was right there.

But I’ll take this exposure as a consolation prize and hopefully some kind of momentum.

Great to see Cam get recognized. To both of your points, I think he just got unlucky that the first two-way player putting up huge stats and nearly record breaking RB season happened to be competing with him. Most other years I think would could be his. I also think if we went undefeated, he still might have overtaken Hunter and Jeanty
Yep if he’d led a comeback v GT or Cuse, maybe Jeanty/Hunter might have split enough and he’d have a shot.

I think he’s bringing his mom but if you’re asking when is the ceremony, I’ll let someone else answer. You’re a cfb fan for decades and wondering if it’s the Saturday after bowl games selected 💁🏻❤️

In all fairness, the Syracuse game was lost because of the D, and the fluke fumble by Restrepo.
Oh, I’m not banging on him for either of those games really. But reality is each one was an L, and I think that hurt his chances. I just think one more touchdown in either game (resulting in a W and keeping us in the top 10), especially one of his patented last-minute comebacks, could have changed everything.

I’m sure it’ll be Hunter, Jeanty, Gabriel, Ward in that order.

Should be Ward, Jeanty, Hunter and removing Gabriel from the ballot (seriously, wtf?)
Gabriel is a career achievement gold watch invite.

Man will play over 70 games and MIGHT, if Oregon plays to the end, has a shot to be CFB's all-time leading passer. He will end his career second, for sure. He's just chasing Case Keenum rn.

He will be CFBs all-time leader in TD passes, too.

I'm less offended he's invited, because Cam is invited.

My list - based on criteria -

Ward
Hunter
Jeanty
Gabriel

I think Hunter is a worthy Heisman winner.

I don’t think the Heisman should be looked at as a career achievement award.

Anyway, Ward and Jeanty have literally carried their teams. Hunter deserves to be in the conversation but he wouldn’t get my #1 vote. I think he benefited from garbage time stat feeding. Just look at last game. He’s still in there being fed TDs up 38-0. Btw, I have no problem with Deion doing this, I’m just not as impressed by it as two other players carrying their teams.

I don't either, but there has always been a level of it in the voting. Also, best QB on the best team QB bump. Two factors that play a role in it.

Hunter also being perhaps the best corner or very close to the top in CFB helps his cause quite a bit. Over 700 defensive snaps (most as an island corner). Almost 400 coverage snaps. 22 catches, 200 yards and 1 TD on him this year. Add on top of that a 2nd in the nation in TD receptions, 6th in yards.

Jeanty might break Barry's record...I'm cool with him, too. Hunter is just unique.

Obviously Ward would be my ☝️

Do we think Cam might actually get the He1sman, especially given the pushback from not having the Canes in the CFP? I know Jaunty is a stud RB and Hunter a stud CB/WR but for my $ Cam is the best player in all the land.

Unfortunately, no. Any other logo on his helmet and he would have won.

he played well against Cuse so that loss didn’t hurt him much. GT was terrible though. In a year where a player like Hunter is doing something we haven’t seen in years, a qb can’t have a bad game like GT that results in a L. I think Ward would have finished as the #2 vote getter if we had beaten Cuse.

Yep GT followed by a bye week (all the hype was for the other two, too quiet for Cam with no GT momentum) was the nail.
