I don’t think portal recruiting has been bad per se. But we’re whiffing at key positions. We desperately need DT’s and have lost one candidate to FSU and potentially another to UF. Not that either are certified all-Americans, but we need bodies - like multiple dudes.

Maybe this is naïve but if DMoney starts a thread on a guy, we didn’t just start pursuing him. 6’6’’ 340 doesn’t grow on trees, and he would allow LT more freedom inside.

But I guess we wait for the next group of entries.

If we were handing out portal grades for last year & now, we wouldn’t be academically ineligible but we wouldn’t exactly be honor roll students either.

HS Recruiting is separate. (See his quote)

The wave comments aren’t about the high school recruiting class. It’s referring to the multiple reports that Mario expected another wave of players to enter the portal last year and it never happened. People are repeating the same comments about another group entering following the bowls

I will say it’s odd for UF to be super confident if a kid moves up his decision the day Miami goes public about being in on him. He was supposed to visit in January, nothing about a commitment or early decision.

Unless they heard about it and slid him a bag quick.

Dennis Smith's tweets making more sense. "The hate is real" earlier today smacks of negative recruiting from the Gayta. And the recent one about 'not over yet' paraphrase, indicating an uphill struggle. He's in La. so I gather directly involved. Sounds like kid had a home in mind, like many, when he entered. Big bag MANDATORY, and soon...

I'm also LOLing at the fact this board hadn't made a peep about him until D$ started this thread today, and now it's the end of the world if he goes to UF or FSU. I know we need a big man at DT. But the emotional roller coaster ride that is CIS doesn't seem to have any rails.
