Calvin Russell III (c/o ‘26)

Youre wrong. Heard this from the horses mouth. He still may end up at Miami. But we’re recruiting him as a legacy. He just wants to be his own person. That’s not how he’s being recruited.

This is how you move the goalposts.

"Not following in his mother's footsteps" is completely different from "recruiting him as a legacy", so if you want to be more precise in your wording, that would be a good start.

The ridiculous BULL**** about all of this is that if we did NOT recruit him as a legacy, we would be criticized for that too.

If he needs to feel more "valued", then that is an issue whether he is a legacy or not. And, yes, Dennis Smith ****ed this up early. So it's up to the new recruiting staff to make the improvement on how he is handled.

We have to be able to land a kid from Opa-Locka who is 100% about his family, and not just his parents but his extended family. Mario is elite at connecting with recruits like Calvin, even more so a legacy.

Even more reason we should have paid up to keep Isaiah. Really hope Daniels recovers and is better than before. We need to keep that NFL pipeline at WR fresh.

... also, that Michigan vlogger is a goof. Compared to him, Donno is Al Michaels and @DMoney is Howard Cosell

His Mom was out there this morning.

Says he won’t make a decision until signing day

Mentioned he hasn’t been a fan of Miami since 2015

D. Cooper has been a UGA fan the last several years. He commits to UGA, his Mom took care of that quick without consulting her. It appears Miami now leads for Coop.
Speaking of Mom's, Calvin's Mother was out there this morning. Miami has to get Calvin. They just can't let this one leave. Above Henry or Keys, he's a must get.

The bigger question is then who is gaby?

He's not part of what keys is from a game perspective. He a dominant possession receiver. Keys is the whole shebang. If Russel wasn't from here and his family didn't have a past with us he a target but not must get by any means.

I think he would still be a top priority target. There arent much 6'5 targets that run like him in n out of breaks.

He becomes a must get when his mom is in um hall of fame and he is from one of our #1 pipeline schools in MNW.
Kid is so wiry and has that randy moss running gait. With s&c and development he iwll be a problem because there is a next level there with him. In the 7 on 7 game he is doing a lot of damage out of the slot. That aint the norm as a 6'5 guy.

Jabari Brady to me is more of a possesion type than Calvin. Im a fan of the Wingo kid out of St Aug,FL.

No arguments on anything you said except normal results. When were speaking about the results of a kid in 7 on 7 who is supposed to determine what's normal? You know I think you know the game brother and I don't question that. But I'm not impressed with anything someone does in any spot that has zero physicality

correct i hate the 7 on 7 aau game. I just spoke on that for him because its the most i seen him the last week or so i think ive seen 3 of their games. i only saw mnw once last year.

And what you speak on is where i think he has a next level to get to. Kid goes from football to basketball i doubt he does much weight room work....the physicality is a weakness for him and i think the college s&c is needed..that being said he may play both in college he has the ability.

I dont have him in the JJ Smith's, Andre Johnson trajectory of s.fla wr.

My comp for Calvin. A guy that snook outa s.fla from westminster and went fcs b4 doing it at iowa state.

mnw does alot of the same routes with calvin ..put up real good combine numbers too.
@DMoney @bshaw28 @Lance Roffers

@gogeta4 - I like him, but my WR evals are usually pretty bad (so I don't comment too much on WR's).

I swore Hakeem Butler was going to multiple Pro-Bowls.
sucks for u being a fan of um and Miami getting mid acc players from unc and duke drafted has become a running theme.

daniel jones, hakeem butler a bunch of others as well...um film got em in the game.
