We know what we are getting from Perryman, but these guys

Dorsett
Chickillo
Finnie
Rashawn Scott
Gionni Paul
Ricardo Williams
Olsen Pierre
Clive Walford
Feliciano
Bunche

need to have big seasons. For most kids you see the biggest improvement between their sophomore and junior seasons. For the most part Golden recruited all these kids, and even if he didn't it seems like everyone has bought in and ditched all the bad habits. I think this group tells us next year just how well Golden and staff really develop. I think every guy in that group has the potential to be a really good player in their final two seasons, they just need to be coached up right. Hope it happens.

Crawford is a redshirt Freshman this year

Sophomore next year

So is Rico

****, i thought johnson was a redshirt freshman. if he gets his head on straight and has the year he's capable of, we could lose him and Perryman. that would really hurt.

It's Johnson who has to be careful. For as much as he's gained cult status around here, he still mostly sucks in pass coverage and I anticipate the best defensive recruit in probably 3 years (Matthew Thomas) will come in at his position this upcoming year. Wally Pipp might have some lessons to teach Johnson. We'll see.

don't get me wrong. i have not defended the kid one iota for his ridiculous selfishness over the past couple of weeks. he has no excuses, and better get his ***** together. that's why i put in the qualifier.

but when the kid was playing, he was often very dynamic. Pass coverage is often a weak spot for fresh lbs, even those that turn out to be great ones.

This was his first season playing football with the Miami Hurricanes.

His first ever game was vs BC and his first ever start was vs Bethune

We are all acting like this kid has been playing for a few years now. His first game was Deon Bush's first game

I think Feliciano had a very good year. Remember all those false starts and holding penalties?? Gone.

Our Oline as a whole played very well minus a few bone headed plays by Bunche. But that's to be expected from a LT going up against the opposing team's best DE week in and week out.

Not many sacks allowed this year and plenty of holes for Duke and Mike. At times Morris held the ball too long.

That's great. I'm hopeful he gets his **** together so he can be available to further develop. But, my point was that while he may develop into a superstar, he hasn't shown anything to make him a transcendent player yet. A WEZ thread and message board cult status isn't going to change what he showed on film. He has on-field weaknesses that probably can only be addressed by staying in line long enough to be active for the games.

He hasnt done anything?

He's the 2nd leading tackler and TFL guy on our team with only 8 starts and 2 suspensions.

Kid is a beast and we all know it. Especially considering he was a "reach" on NSD.

Kid shouldn't have even sniffed the field according to the recruiting experts here

Not many frehmen LBers that are on his level right now. **** I would venture to say you couldn't name 10 freshmen LBers or true sophomores on his level right now. The only other one is on his team.

Read till completion. He hasn't shown anything "to make him a transcendent player yet."

Nothing you wrote, especially "he's a beast and we all know it," is evidence of being a transcendent player. He can be, maybe, except it has to be done on the field - not by hopes and dreams on a message board or in his brain. I'm sure Coach Golden is telling him the same thing.

How does one accomplish that in 8 games?

Yes he does, and Jermaine Grace is better in pass coverage than Eddie Johnson right now (RIP me, nice knowing you guys)
