Henderson's father, Christopher Henderson, told InisdeTheU on Sunday that the Hurricanes are in his son's top three along with both Florida and Alabama.
"It was a just a real nice visit," he said.
"Miami just saying that they think CJ could make an impact early and that they need cornerbacks. We talked mainly with [cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph] but we also talked with [safeties coach Ephraim Banda] and defensive coordinator Manny Diaz]. They are good people."
Henderson, who is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 13 cornerback and No. 111 overall prospect, was previously committed to Miami. He however backed off that pledge in early October after multiple visits to Florida.
While many feel that the Gators remain the team to beat, his father says that the Hurricanes should be viewed as just as much of a contender as UF.
"I would like to say Miami is at the top," the elder Henderson said. "I mean I'm a Miami fan, but I can't say anymore than the top three because we still get these other trips coming up. The visit definitely helped Miami though, they are in it."
Henderson will take an official visit to Alabama (Jan. 13) and Florida (Jan. 20) before making a final decision. Both schools were in to see him earlier in the week.
