C.J Henderson

9th graders running 50 sec in the 400m is not unusual. the truly elite kids are running like 48s or even 47s for that age group.

This was his middle school time...he was 2nd in the state middle school championships Kids at that age from one year to the next can drop considerable. Give him a chance to run as a 9th grader this coming spring and remember he is a ball payer first not just a track athlete.

I saw TOS 247 by a guy named southbeast where C. Henderson's brother Xzavier now fresh from middle school will be at Columbus. He is listed at 6-1 and 170 but he has run an official 400m in 50.88 in a Youth National AAU Meet this summer. As a middle school kid at Cutler Bay Academy Centennial Middle 400m in 51.02.. PR... May 14, 2016... FLYRA MS State Championships V F and 800 Meters 1-- 2:05.17 .. PR... May 14, 2016... FLYRA MS State Championships

stout is that you again?
Welcome back

Anyways, Xzavier is his name? That's not a typo? Also when does he graduate 2021?

That is his name as it is a rather unique spelling.

In regards to the question I am not southbeast but I am a relative-real last names are the same. He may no be on the 247 site much longer as he is considering taking a position of an evaluator from freshman talent from a college. He likes it as he is retired and can do it on line. He humbly said with that and the retirement he can came out with about six digits doing it from anywhere. He is considering the big Island of Hawaii. He really loves to help kids who are not super talent get into a college to earn a degree with a scholarship. he often tells them not everyone will be on TV Sunday but if you work with a scholarship you will have a good living.

The 247 posts he does are all on the net if you do a Google search with his post name and kids have picked up on it and ask him for help. He showed me the personal emails and parents and students have contacted him for assistance. He told me some of these high school people are not very helpful is assisting the kids not of star talent. Loves to help kids from middle and lower income families get scholarships to a college to better themselves and avoid the huge loans that many cannot afford. He was involved in the early 1980s in weight training for professional footballers.
What is amazing is the guy works out at almost age 64 can seated press a pair of 100 pound dumbbells for sets and reps with no chemicals. I will see if I can get a picture of him.

I'm a 247 subscriber I'm well aware. I have the same name on there. Also, he should work for Miami

He is a high plan B possible if we are unable to land Chris Curry or a similar talent. A long time between now and 18 He has excellent receiving skills and is a pretty good runner with burst. He needs to go to some camps to be really evaluated. Last year played in the lower 190s so is growing.

I am quoting below

"(2018)...Jakyus Johnson -Everglades High....5-11/202..........claims a 4.53-40....has not update this year's height and weight...runs with power and has acceleration into the hole and on sweeps, very good receiver, has power to carry players and is a willing blocker. Has not run track or attended any Nike Combines yet. looks like he will be in the 220 range when he graduates."
Jakyus Johnson - Hudl

Here are a few more locals with possibilities. With 2 years left lost of growth possible. These films were 2015.

"(2018)....James Jackson...Gulliver..RB.... 5-11/190...was not impressed when I saw him last year. This year started off the 16 season with an 11.74--100m...now he recently posted an 11.20--100m..speed is really falling...I want to watch his play this year on the field. Some schools are looking at him as a SS/FS."
2015 HIGHLIGHTS - James Jackson IV highlights - Hudl

"(2018)...Vero Beach....RB...Akeem Dixon....6-0/210....may not be quite that tall...has run an official 11.39--100m this year in his first meet..last year was in the 11.6s....entering that speed/growth phase.--now down to 11.13...chance to reach national elite (10.80). Receiving abilities are in question."
Akeem Dixon - Hudl

"Dawson Hill... 18.. RB ..FL.. South Plantation.. Nike Measurables March 8, 2016---5-11(ht)... 177(wt)...
100m---11.26, 200m--22.67, long jump 20-6....could possibly make the national elite standards in the sprints. "
Sophomore Highlights - Dawson Hill highlights - Hudl

"Davonne Kendrick... 2018.. RB ...FL ...Miramar "

Davonne Kendrick - Hudl

"Nike Combine 3-6/2016.....5-9(ht)...185(wt)... 4.61(40)...4.58(SS)... 40.0(PB)... 35.2(vert)... 99.03(SPARQ score)...good 40 for Nike and good vertical for age....often 30% or more of participants will not run the 40 in these camps."

"Has added quite a bit of muscle since last year...compact, strong runner with a burst... a Joe Yearby type build...speed has dropped considerably from last year..vertical up quite a bit."

Nike Combine February 2015 below-he has really "sprouted"

" Davonne Kendrick 5-8(ht)... 167(wt)... 4.88(40)... 5.03(SS)... 28(PB)... 28.2(vert)... 45.24(SPARQ)"

many more on the list

He will most likely stick to the U and it would be great for us. His younger brother is at Columbus this year as a fresh. Kid is listed at 6 -1 and 160 pounds and can straight out fly for his age. I saw on two other sites some time back about him. He was second in the state middle school track championships with a 50.12 400 meters.

I saw him in spring with CJ at The Opening Regional.

Yes that's his little brother. He was in the back of the cart with Bandy, Jobe, Frierson & CJ with Baez. Back in June. The day Ivey got his offer.

Idk how much he's gonna play this year for Columbus but they are very excited about him. He's playing WR.

For someone who hasn't played corner a lot in HS. CJ has really caught on fast. He was going toe to toe with top competition at rivals camp and The Opening regional and winning a lot of reps. He displayed elite recovery speed, even if he got beat, he was right there on the ball again.

Then when he went to The Opening Finals, they put him at safety to utilize his speed in the middle of the field and he picked off a lot of passes and was a top performer at the event in testing and 7on7.

Again, for someone who hasn't played it a lot, he's learning it fast. He has the traits to be an elite corner. Height, Hips, Feet, Cheetah Fast, and long limbs. Kid looks like he's gliding when he's running full speed.

Anyone that can run an official 21.3 200 meters with that athletic ability is something. He ran a 40 in 4.35 at the Nike Invite. Has both log and short speed

He was even a little faster than I though at 200m was a 21.24 at the district championships. Unreal kid a baller and not just track athlete is nearing the 21.0 mark.

Ah so that's who the other kid was. I couldn't figure it out.

Lot of chatter with Chris Henderson from UF reporters on Twitter having articles about him having visited a couple times in last month and is going back up again soon.

Anything to worry about?
