Bryant Puts South Carolina Rumors To Rest

Only makes sense to take the trips and see some of our beautiful Country on the dime of these other schools. His Mom will be locked once she gets to have more interaction with Golden. And, the kid sees it right, he will have his best shot at starting right away and being a big time contributor.

The Nolies are running their mouth about Bryant now-- not that I believe their tired ****. Did he go up on a visit or something?

Matt Porter, palm beach post high school writer, predicted Bryant to FSU earlier this week so that's probably where their optimism is coming from. I talked to Keith about it when Porter tweeted it out and he said "SMH no. Reporters switch words around."

It appears you have Nole-admirers on the internet Petey Pablo. They got your name in their mouth. That means your doing it right.

Where?

Trouble........................................................................ high School DT and Cane commitment Keith Bryant has helped his team to a 5-2 record with seven sacks.

"Other teams try to double me, but I got better at my technique," Bryant said. "I just come off the ball faster, with better explosion. I get off one dude, throw him off me and the other guy doesn't have time to get to me."

Bryant is also playing offensive tackle for the first time, going both ways.

"They just needed me to play there also to help the team," Bryant said.

Of his chance to play at UM given the line's struggles, Bryant said, "I see that. Coaches tell me the defensive line needs me, and I see it too because most people run up the middle against them."

But while Bryant is committed it's not for sure that he'll be a Hurricane.

He says Florida State also remains high in his picture.

"Those are my two main schools," Bryant said.

He adds that "I am committed but I'll take all my visits, want to enjoy the recruiting thing."

Bryant says he'll take official visits to FSU and LSU (he's previously visited Purdue). He doesn't know yet where he'll take his final two visits but says "I'll go out to California."

Bryant adds that "Miami, I'm not going to take one there because I've been there too many times."

He's being recruited by UM DL coach Jethro Franklin.

"Miami coaches, they understand somewhat that I want to enjoy the process," Bryant said. "They are just saying don't let other schools get to me.

"Coach Franklin, we have a good relationship. We talk sometimes twice a week, I'll call him. He says I'll come in there and play right away. I like hearing stuff like that, but I feel I can go anywhere and start right away."

Bryant broke down what he likes about his top two:

FSU - "I like the coaches and I like the FSU atmosphere. It's a good town. Every time I go there ... it's hard to explain. It's a good place. The campus is beautiful. It's a fun place."

Miami - "Miami, it's closer to home and is a nice school. It's only 45 minutes away. And I like coach Franklin and my chances to play early."

A wildcard in all this could be Bryant's mother. Bryant says she is pushing him to Florida State.

"She does like Florida State, to be honest," Bryant said. "(Former Nole) Preston Parker is from my town and went there, and she's heard good things about it from him."

Bryant says he'll announce a final decision on Signing Day.

The chance at this point he sticks with Miami?

"It's still a good chance," Bryant said.

I will tell you guys this about Keith: I've known him and been talking to him since his sophomore year and he's never given me bad information; he's always up front about the process with me. It's obvious he does like to enjoy he process, but we knew he would be doing that the entire time. He has said for months that he would be taking all his visits and whatnot.

Big difference between taking all your visits and announcing a "final decision."

I don't love the tone of that interview.

Yes I know it is canesport
Yes I know it is October
Yes I know he is a commit

But, don't love the way he described FSU and the environment vs. his description of the MIA

Those PBP guys are big Gator fans from what I can tell. Hard to take them seriously as unbiased reporters.

Trust the tie. Bryant's not going anywhere. This class will be a good in top talent as last year's class, if not better.

Kid is the goods but he isn't getting nearly as much PT at FSU opposed to UM. FSU has been bringing in big time DT's the last couple years.
