No but most championship teams in College Football and Miami history have a dominating DL. I haven't seen that in Miami since 2003.

What is the biggest thing he thinks Miami has been missing in recent years, that has kept them from truly competing with other top programs? Does he see steps being taken now that will change that?

Has Miami's drought of national relevance been a product of a couple poor coaching hires or a more fundamental short-coming that no one coach could overcome?

Ask him about USC because that's the program he follows most closely. The dude, like any other national reporter, knows a little bit about a lot of programs. Surface-level stuff. His knowledge of the current UM team is pedestrian at best.

Man, did we EVER luck out with Georgia firing Richt. What a list. I was scared to death of Mario being our next head coach. I would have been forced to walk away from Cane football for a few years had he been hired for health/sanity reasons. It would have followed a disasterous streak of cheap hires, with yet another disasterous cheap hire. I honestly would have walked. I wouldn't be a fan of another school, I simply wouldn't invest any more of my time, emotions, money, or energy into a school that put less of those things into the program than any other program in the country. The Richt hire might have saved our program, period.
