Bring back Al Golden as DC?

He’s actually a pretty **** good DC but I think Marcus Freeman definitely plays a huge role.

I am just ******* around, but all jokes aside. Al Folden has evolved a little.

In the weekly after this game he stood by the decision to go with this D formation on this play. Something to the effect that “you guys don’t know football”.
What was he supposed do? Publicly throw D'nofrio under the bus. If Folden had done that he would never attract another quality coach to coach under him.

Praise in public, critize/discipline in private. That leadership 101. All the great leaders i know and greats team I have been apart. The leader always falls on the grenade for his guys, even though he may have not be the reason for the failure.

Dorito called Al Foldens defense
Dorito still call the plays. Folden defense is doing pretty well at Notre Dame. Calling plays is art and feel. Some coaches have it and some don't.

We can agree Kirby Smart defense philosophy and gameplan is really good, right? I bet my left nut if we made dorito use Kirby defensive philosophy, our defense would still be trash.

Dorito was just bad play calling. Period . Stop.
Were is dorito now? On the worst defense in ACC Stanford. He is terrible play caller.

Although above average Head coach. Folden is really defense coordinator

Al Golden aint happening, but as crazy as this sounds, there's a rumor about Mel Tucker on campus recently ...

He could have just disagreed and moved on with the segment.
He pressed the issue and took the guys asking the question to task.

No need to extend past that.
Leadership 101, grenades, and all that stuff didn't apply to his comments regarding that play.

FWIW, he's a local guy (sea girt, NJ) and I wanted for him to be successful at UM.
It didn't work out and took a lot out of him and his family.
No grudge here.
