You know, it is entirely possible that Swasey and D'Onofrio are both doing a poor job.

Nobody ever said our defensive style lends itself to playing fast, but that doesn't mean our S&C program is as good as it can be.

Maybe we only need to get slightly better in S&C. Maybe we're just average. Maybe we outright suck. It's hard to tell which one is correct when, regardless of how explosive a player is, he won't look that way.

Swasey has been here under a lot of coordinators not named D'Onofrio. I think he's piled up a pretty convincing case against himself the last 10 years.

On top of all that, Swasey is doing with the S&C program what Fat Al tells him to do. Fat Al wanted to emphasize certain things, such as blowing guys up size wise, and he gave Swasey his marching orders.

I think Swasey serves a purpose, and I think Golden at least makes a genuine attempt to keep up with the changing landscape of S&C.

We just need to keep bringing in the horses IMO. You need guys who live and breathe and breed that environment.

I don't know enough about what he's responsible for these days to comment on his job performance. I know it's really difficult to tell either way. While he may very well be a problem, I don't think he's the root issue of why mostly smaller, slower Duke players ran a train on us.

Lifting weights just makes you muscle bound. We should just emphasize isometrics (like Charles Atlas' Dynamic Tension) and jumping jacks.
