BREAKING: Cleveland Browns privately meet with Cam Ward

CORAL GABLES, FL, March 26, 2025- After Monday’s pro day with all 32 teams in attendance to get a look at Miami’s draft prospects, one team stayed in town to meet with the expected No.1 pick Cam Ward.

And while many would expect it to be the Titans who hold the No.1 pick and sent nearly their whole staff down to watch, it was actually the Cleveland Browns who hold the No.2 pick.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns GM Andrew Berry and coach Kevin Stefanski had a good excuse for not attending Miami quarterback Cam Ward’s pro day on Monday.


They already had a private workout scheduled with him for Wednesday morning at the school, which trumps a pro day any day.


The session was first reported by @CanesInSight, who noted that Jimmy Haslam and Berry were on hand for the session. Cleveland.com added that Stefanski was among those in attendance. It’s not yet known if offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave made the trip.

The Browns, who have the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, are also strongly considering Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders there, but they like several other quarterbacks in this class, including Louisville’s Tyler Shough, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, who played for Rees at Alabama in 2023 when he was coordinator there under Nick Saban.

The Browns have had Ward and Sanders in for top 30 pre-NFL Draft visits, and have one scheduled with Shough, a league source told cleveland.com. They will also conduct private workouts with other top QBs such as Sanders, and possibly Shough, Dart and others. They’ll be represented at Sanders’ Pro Day April 4th at Colorado.

While at Miami, the Browns also met with Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku, the former Hurricane, and his agent, Malki Kawa. Njoku told cleveland.com on radio row at the Super Bowl how much he likes Ward.

Honestly I think it’s all window dressing and having meetings for the sake of having meetings. They can try and tell their fans they’re covering all their bases and putting in the work etc

Titans are taking Cam no matter what. They’ve known it for months in my opinion

Agreed. Titans are taking Cam and only an absolutely ridiculous offer will move them at this point.

Unless they're getting a Walker from Dallas to Minnesota level historic deal, the Titans cannot possibly be so stupid as to trade their pick.

I never underestimate pro football gm’s.
They seem to always find a way to make the dumbest decisions while making millions of dollars.

Been praying to all deities for a job like that my whole life.

Please lord get me a high paying job where I fly in a private jet and eat at fancy steak houses. All while making mistakes all the time with no repercussions.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the titans end up with an explosive diarrhea on draft day. Trade with Cleveland for a bunch of picks and several of their players and pick baby prime because they don’t feel it’s much a drop off in talent.

The social media brigade saying baby prime is better is growing stronger each day. Idk what media company they partnered with but it’s so obvious.

Everyone saying it’s a done deal to Tennessee appear to have amnesia of the nfl draft history.
Yes it appears to be obvious cam is going to Tennessee. But stupidity knows no boundaries.
