Brashard Smith: Miami or SMU

We lost Chris Johnson because we didn’t force him onto the field. There is no one i’d want to give their touches to smith

He is a good player, give credit to lashlee for converting himTo RB full time and credit to smith for committing to position and getting to play out his wish of being the focal point of the offense.

I watched Brashard play for UM and several games this season at SMU. I think he’s going to be really good in the NFL. While I don’t think UM coaches ever used his skills properly, I think Miami has played a larger role in his development as a player because he spent more time at UM and played a role similar to what he’ll play in the NFL.
We ultimately say the same about Chris Johnson.

Sometimes it takes being humbled to bring out the best in a player. Brashard Smith didn’t want to play running back here. He only made the switch at SMU when it became apparent that was his only chance to see the field was at running back. Smith turned out to be the running back that everyone thought Jaylon Knighton would be.

Sounds like a strong culture.

Lashlee can move the ball in between the 20s against anyone. What he can’t do is be consistently great in the redzone. We saw that first hand.
The lack of offensive linemen really shows when you get close to the endzone. You have to get really creative when you can’t just push your running back forward five yards.

That said, a mediocre red zone offense doesn’t mean you’re not scoring. SMU was 10th nationally in scoring offense over 36 points per game. Generating explosive plays can offset a weak redzone offense

How can someone blame Miami, when it's been stated that Smith didn't want to play RB full time here?
He got some touches at RB, led nation in KO returns at Miami, and was Xavier Restrepo's backup at slot.

Smith was a receiver with a bad attitude at Miami. He went to SMU—where Lashlee took all Hurricanes rejects—and was moved to running back, where it worked out for him ... as he was never cracking the Martinez, Fletcher, Lyle, Allen running back depth chart at Miami.

End of story. Kid bad-mouthed and talked trash to and at UM this year; couldn't care less about his NFL career. Last I saw was him crying after losses to Clemson and Penn State. Vaya con Dios, 0.

... because half of this fan base is looking for any reason to play the "Cuban Al Golden" card and to trash Mario and this staff.

I know he did what he had to do-

Great talent-

Hated losing him-

If CJ turns out to be great with SMU-

That won’t make me feel better.
