Brashard Smith is Antonio Brown!!!

Why is he only a 3 star? He’s making one handed catches in multiple highlights, has elite speed, making plays in traffic and also runs through contact.
Plays like AB :rickflair2:

He should already have his own thread title I couldn’t find it if there already was one.

You don't want to be AB

Sucks he barely gets reps, need to rotate him in more you would hope. He is basically a KR with a few plays here or there. Hopefully the clemson game will help him carve out a bigger role..

I don't think the coaches trusted him until just recently. The A&M return put him back on their radar, they've been giving him more and more shots, and he's responded. So happy for the young man. Sky is the limit.

Thought it noteworthy to point out that Smith did get his 4th star and ended up ranked #206 nationally in the composite rankings, #35 WR. His recruiters were Lashlee and Field. Shows how decent coaches with local knowledge have a huge scouting advantage, and that evals do matter.

Didn’t he have trouble grasping the playbooks (different coordinator each year) and had the dropsies?

I only read tea leaves, no inside info. But I inferred Brashard got caught up in the toxic culture nonsense of the Manny era that also affected Brinson and George. Not sure they were ready for the relentless grind and hardarse coaching this staff brought with them. There was a story out last season that Mario talked to Brashard's mother and that helped turn things around for him. And even during the Monday media interview, Mario joked about riding Brashard to get the most out of him.

WR tend to be the first to check out and be an issue if things aren’t going their way… on all levels of ball. It’s a thing… super competitive but if the offense is trash and they ain’t getting looks then the nonsense starts. Kind of comes with the territory with them.
