Miami wanted him primarily as a safety and possible CB use. He has jumping ability by a 6-5 high jump but his 40 while good is not up to par and a little stiff in the hips. Friend's son plays as a RB there and said he is in the 4.7 range maybe a little faster in the 40 that is why he has not run any 40s at any combines or camps.

Stiff hips? He would be the most fluid CB on our roster next year.

His coaches have him a safety not CB because of that in HS also--not terrible but no Bandy. His long speed/quickness is better suited for S. But you are correct regarding Jamal Carter and the others.

In addition, with twitter, Facebook, etc. kids are more tempted to change with interaction with friends, other players, college coaches, etc. Gayhustlers are using CB Q. Wilson as an example of a guy that U said was a safety with Golden and they are using that among other things to work on him. They are saying that last year they had a first round CB and this year they claim CB Wilson will be one.

Also, interesting that when Amari Carter committed yesterday he decommitted today.

I've none Edwards since he was playing OL for PPO until he was basically 13 years old and the only reason he got moved off line is because the tall kid who was playing WR/S got hurt. Edwards has never been fast just been a long strider who excels long distance. Never understood all this excellent hips change of direction stuff because that's not him at all and why he spends more time playing S instead of Corner in HS which is total opposite of what Quincy did. Look back at my post from maybe two years ago about Edwards and I said at the time he's the kid getting offers because of his height and I still believe that and so do many others.

I don't doubt that, my guy. I'm not saying his offer is commitable or anything. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what "a take" means to you. To me, it means if we miss out and ur interested, we're taking u. But I agree w u; he's not their 1st priority.

This staff better learn how to play the game w So Fla divas. OSU told Gibson he will play QB, he's not playing QB at OSU. FSU told Lane they really need him and he will be featured...he's now playing S. UF made Scarlett feel like he was going to be the next Emmitt Smith, he's now sharing carries.

You play the game to bring in talent...and once the season starts, u have the kid start off at a preferred position, and if they don't make it there, move them to your preferred position. That simple.

This is y I wanted Butch instead of Richt. This ain't UGA, where ur the only game in town. This is Miami where we have to compete w FSU and UF, in state, & Bama and OSU out of state.

It's time for Richt to overhaul his good old boy thinking and start realizing he ain't in Kansas anymore...Recruiting here is a different animal all together. You have to be a savage both on and off the field.

The problem with this kind of thinking is you are lying to people and Richt seems to be very comfortable living with himself.
In the long run you will get a better player,team and person who speaks highly of his alma mater.

I have come to the conclusion that if we don't get the best linemen we will be **** forever. Focus on great linemen, this kid is not going to make any difference at all if we don't get great linemen on both sides of the ball. I watched the Bama game the other day, it's the linemen that control the game, period. Every year for the past 10 years we complain about losing these type of kids when we don't get many good linemen. Linemen win big games, just the way it is.

I agree with a lot of this, but Scarlett at UF was sold whatever....we don't know. Him sharing carries doesn't prove anything, in fact our running backs do just that....share carries. Nobody is recruited to share carries, but are told they'll get their chance. Was Homer told he'd sit and just play special teams at least seven games into the season?

Lane, everyone wanted him as a WR. He's playing safety because he didn't cut it and they saw a place for him to play when James went down. They didn't plan on that.

Gibson, props to the guy for having the moxy to give it a try there at QB, not sure he got much of one though and if he did, he probably changed his tune quick.

I agree though, give them a shot where they think and go from there. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise you. I didn't follow this recruits recruitment all that much, but maybe they did plan on trying him at corner. Only they can answer that.

As for the rest, we'll see how it all pans out. There's a long way to go, I'm not worried about it right now. I'm also not going to throw people under the bus since what's really going on behind the scenes, doesn't make it here as coaches cannot comment on recruits.
