Wow
This guys film is sick
Dude is a missile
Manny probly selling him on being the next Rousseau

I get the Carver comparison (honestly keep forgetting he is even on the team). White, 2 way player, but that’s about where it stops. Carver played football for one year prior to coming to Miami, against sub par competition at that. This kid is bigger, making plays on the perimeter and at LB, and is playing legit 6A Pittsburgh ball at one of the best programs in the state of PA.

Like others have said, I don’t know what he is but I’m all for taking big athletes. I also don’t believe in turning every kid that is above 6’3 into an edge player so I’d guess LB to start but then it’s like got **** how many LBs are we trying to take. Obviously not my job to figure that out and deal with the roster management consequences, but that film shows a bigger, longer Schott if we are being honest. If he is closer to 6’5 then he would probably outgrow LB but bring him in and figure it out. I wouldn’t be mad at it. If we don’t take him from Duke then PSU or Michigan will and we’ll probably be reading about him in a few years. I’d take him over some of our recent LB/DL takes over our current & past couple cycles for **** sure.

…..I just wish we would expand our WR board like we appear to be doing LB lol.

Penn St, Michigan, and Virginia all have offered.

Gaby says Penn St has been working to flip already
Not surprising at all about those 3 schools lurking. Their rosters are always littered with kids like this. We would play UVA and no matter the year there would always be a guy on defense where I would be like "Who is this kid and why have I never heard of him?" LOL

He’s playing primarily weak side in his film but he looks like he would be suited for middle in college. I say he is a take, drop the lb from central lol

On point for sure. Bring this kid in and figure out a position later. Anytime you can take a 6'4"+ 210+ deluxe athlete with a motor, aggression and explosiveness then you take him everytime! Reminds me of Schott and that kid from Minnesota that we were recruiting at DE but went to Oklahoma. Edit: His name is Wyatt Gilmore. Anyway love the profile and he's a take for me.

Put the white kid who plays (or played) DL/LB for Nc state at the top of that list. Can’t remember his name but he’s big time.

The judge in California signed off on the House settlement so the 105 scholarships are pretty likely to be coming in next year. No need to drop anybody.

Well I’m going to go the white route too…and I’m not saying this will be his career but he is very similar to Urlacher. He was 6’4 200-210. Played all over the field, was an all state WR, hoops, track and field, etc.

Texas Tech used him in that hybrid safety/LB position and he played that at like 230.

Gompers now joins Vero Beach (Fla.) Top247 linebacker TJ Alford and Seffner (Fla.) Armwood linebacker Kellen Wiley as the players that Nicholson and the Hurricanes are pursuing at the position. Miami highly values all three as prospects.

When it comes to Gompers, it's fair to question where Miami stands considering it is a bit later in the process and he is now surging up boards. Penn State and Michigan are a few programs to keep an eye on outside of Duke, but I am of the understanding the Gompers is very intrigued by Miami as well. The interest sounds mutual following the offer.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if Gompers visited Miami for a home game this fall, maybe even as soon as the Florida State weekend.
