KState was a better team. So all of you who are ****ed off "fire him" "he has to go" need to settle down and accept that we are not a great team. Their avg starter is 22 years old. 79% of our 2 deep as 18 and 19 year olds. They were bigger and stronger and the line of scrimmage was the difference of the game. Don't get me wrong, we play poorly on defense but the reality is that against veteran teams like this we don't have much of a shot. This is valueable time the youngsters are getting for the rest of the season and future. 52-13 is inexcusable however for the folks who say "we roll" clearly don't get it.

There is a lot of talent on our roster but something we can't buy is time and our KIDS that we are playing with are weaker and less experienced. This is going to be a long season with lots of pain as we will get shredded every game on D and show flashes of potential here and there. You know its bad when your upperclassmen are being beat out by underclassmen. Golden is cleaning up a huge Blandio mess and our eyes are the ones suffering on Saturdays. :neonu:

no doubt they are better but are they 52-13 better.. and we are not talking about a top 10 team here

Reminds me of when Syracuse put up 66 on us in the late 90's...it sucked but the freshmen were the core of a national championship team...keep the faith

Get out of here with that young ****..the defensive problems go much deeper. This game taken in context along with the BC game reveals our problems are greater than just youth. There is something fundementally wrong....beyond youth.

I totally agree with this. I was reading another thread where they had a quote from Golden saying something like he needs to re evaluate the defensive scheme.

then why aren't more upperclassmen playing?

You living in the 80s guys are fing delusional. Yes, we are that depleted and that bad.

This. Look at the guys starting on our DL. What other d1 team would have those guys starting?

Seriously? You think we have the worst defensive tackles out of 120+ D1 teams? Come, sure we are not good, but that's a bit ridiculous. I agree the results point to it being the case, but realistically it's not the case... A lot of This on the coaching. They are not putting these kids in a position to succeed.

young team. It took Butch a while to assemble a monster out of a mess. This is going to take a while.

There is no justification for getting blown out like we did. NONE. So those that are trying to look for some need to wake up and smell the coffee.
KSU never punted except for when there was 20 seconds left in the goddam game. KSU either scored or attempted to score on every goddam drive excpet there very last one.

No. Thinking that coaching is behind play like that is ridiculous when we have nothing returning on the D-line. Who is our best D-lineman, and how good are they? Chick is the answer, and he sits on the bench at FSU and most ACC teams that aren't Duke.

If we were decent Chick would not of lead us in sacks his freshman and now true sophomore year.

every time our defense is on the field i know we are giving up points, i just hope its 3 and not 7. We are that bad, yes we are young but the bend but dont break scheme is a joke. We let the other team run us up and down the field and then walk right in.

Look, if we are getting beat you make adjustments, if you are still getting beat, you make more adjustments....when you see a team beating you consistently with the same exact plays, and you don't make a single adjustment then it's not on the young kids...this is on the coaches. Did you ever see eight in the box? Ever? We did nothing to make them change what they were doing. It's not like they were even dictating to us, there wasn't a conversation. We sat in the same base, and they did what they wanted. I bet you anything the KState coaches were more confused by what we didn't do....maybe we were trying reverse paychology, who knows. Bottom line, the youth is only partially to blame.
