Bleacher Report Season Prediction

Why can't people believe that we have a lot more talent on D then last year? Our Dline lost a few pieces but guys are a year older and the JUCO and freshmen have to make contributions. I don't buy into the "We have no depth at LB" TBH Golden has this idiotic thing about putting guys in with no talent I would rather see our rotation at 5-6 guys. We return our best two corners (that I would rank at or tied at the top of the conference) and we all know what a massive upgrade a heathy Bush, Crawford, and Carter will do at the safety spot.

we may have more talent on D but it doesnt matter that much. the system is an achilles. it constantly gets exploited regardless of whos out there. we have multiple WRs WIDE OPEN on most passing plays. it is embarrassing

Exactly. Wyche and Herutlou are probably our best two defensive tackles since...who even knows...wow that hurt. Our defense will surprise a lot of people including Petrino on Labor Day

People still don't understand how bad our defensive talent has been... our best defense under this regime was the last defense that had some semblance of talent on the field.

Switch UL and NU and I think I could see 9-3, but I think we'll probably lose another game somewhere.

The VT game is going to be extremely difficult to pull out. Historically, home teams on thursday nights win. Remember last year against UNC? We barely squeaked by. Now we face a better team and in a more hostile environment.

Should be fun to watch and is a great opportunity for the canes to show they really have turned a corner.

Not sure if I'm in the minority here but I'm definitely more worried about that VT game than going to Lincoln.

Well the Nebraska game is not really important for us in the sense that our goal is to win the coastal, so that game doesn't make or break the season like VT and UNC can.

OP: why do you think that RW is a difference maker? what have you seen that leads you to believe that?

I think he is a better Jake Heaps. An older experienced guy who won't make many mistakes. Except he knows the offense better than any of the other QBs and is THE leader of this team.
I honestly don't think our QB situation is too bad because of the amount of talent surrounding it. Kaaya should start until RW is back, ideally he'd be back the week before Nebraska.
