Bleacher Report: Can Heaps Make Miami an ACC Contender?

Dude couldn't cut it at KU don't hold your breath

Well. Ryan Williams wasn't exactly all world.......
Let's see what the kid can do. We were basically gonna start a senior transfer anyway in Williams, there is nothing to lose here.

All we can ask for is for the QB job to be a fair open competition and for the best man to win the job whoever it ends up being.
We'll be a better team for it.

Golden is doing what any good coach would do and that is to address areas of concern, regardless of the circumstances that led to the concern, by bringing in more players to compete in hopes to strengthen that position.

Am I the only one who gets the plan? Its obvious. If you bring in a senior grad transfer, start him, it A: allows you to redshirt your prized recruit. and B: will not burn any young guys when you put Ryan Williams back in and C: You know the locker room supports RW. And just like last yr they know who the team wants at qb and they are going to support the guy that the team believes in. This is a roster move to control the locker room. You risk so much if you start Olsen, then you bring RW back when healthy. He could get ****ed and bolt, he could regress if he struggles, then his confidence is shot. Let alone then you have the next seasons QB battle where he will have to battle against Kaaya. This one yr gap is exactly what the staff was looking for. They wanted to see a RSF (Kaaya) and a RSS (Olsen) battling it out for the qb job NEXT yr. This move allows that to happen so long as Heaps doesn't completely suck. As long as that kid even plays average he will get the start and it will make if very easy to move back to RW when the time comes...
