Jury is still out on D'Onofrio. Shannon did well as a DC. It all has to do with the athletes you have. Case in point, USC this year. They have had one of the best DC's alive. They were young and inexperienced.
D should improve no matter what next year. If there is no improvement then he has to go. This year he gets a pass bc of the youth and lack of depth. Next year we still won't be that great but should improve some because everyone is back. We lost key players last year to early draft entries which made this year harder. Blessing though bc who cares since we were imposing a ban and the youngsters got a ton of PT.
Golden knows what he is doing.

Negged.....welcome to the board.

The myth that Randy Shannon is a good DC should be put to bed with the fact the dip**** is a LB coach at TCU right now.

I didn't really follow Canes football back then but what makes people think he was a good DC if he wasn't?

Because statistically he was solid.....but was consistently out schemed by good O-Coordinators and in big games. Always had superior talent as DC.
