don't know how true this is, but something was said about Richt connecting resigning with no buyout with Diaz being hired.

if thats true, then Diaz was supposed to keep Mork Jr as QB coach or OC and double-crossed the deal by firing the entire O corching staff .... with these clowns who knows whats true and whats not though ... lol

You hear this all the time and then the coach is fired.

The message to Diaz is clear “focus on the last 5 games and win them no excuses”

If Diaz doesn’t finish this season at worst 8-5 it’s over for him.

Not one mention of “ we understand that there is a certain standard of excellence that we have here at the University of Miami in regards to our football program and that we haven’t met that” or something to that effect. Instead, we get this pussoir response of “ we’re trying to win but so is everyone else.” WTF!! James needs to go!!
 
Guys please recognize how brave OP is to quote Blake James on this board and risk negs by association.

Lol. He may not have signing authority. He clearly has apparent authority to run a search (or not), and to try to negotiate terms. Manny came in cheaper than richt, in any case. So he presented a financial win - the question was, could he do the job.

And the idea that he could sort through lots of ideas tossed at him by people who have no idea what they’re talking about and get manny done in 24 hours is just bunk. He locked in on manny. probably the board was okay with that because some are friends with his dad.

There was no search, no assessment of needs, no evaluation of manny or other candidates against those needs. Just a panic move to hire manny for no reason whatsoever.
 
Blake is a idiot, but what y'all wanted him to say?
"I made a huge mistake. Shanny, I mean Manny Diaz is an awful coach, we have been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray by him. We will definitely fire him as soon as the money clears and I will resign."

Obviously we hope he is in Manny ears, pressuring for change in the offseason, but rn in the middle of the season it will be the same boring speech that we're familiar with.

Plus no coach or coordinator worth a **** is jumping on this sinking ship. It would only set their careers back.
Manny is so screwed. I have never seen a coach put himself in such a bad position in such a short period of time. I don't think there is anyway for him to correct it at this point. Players are defecting, recruits are de-committing and no coach worth a **** is going to work for him. He is dead man walking, just a matter of time. Until then, we'll just have to continue to suffer and then have another "rebuild" on our hands.
Same as the last 2 decades... Rinse and repeat!!
 
Mr. James: UM is currently at the Howard Schnellenberger hiring state of the program. Had he not Turned it Around, the program would have closed down! We are one more unsuccessful coach away from this happening. The program is imploding. Not so sure anyone has a Golden Parachute to get out when things fully collapse. Let's do everyone a favor (including the fans) and hire a real Turnaround Specialist!! His name is Butch Davis. He did it at Miami, had success at UNC,, and really did it big with JJ in Dallas. Take some wisdom from George Steinbrenner. Keep Diaz, put him back at DC. Whenever Steibrenner fired any of his coaches, he put them in different positions with the New York Yankee organization. Manny doesn't have to be kicked to the curb, but you need to bring in Butch, otherwise this whole thing is going to implode.

Yeah, that is not going to happen. No chance we win the remaining 5, no chance in ****.
We will lose badly to Pitt this week. This team is in it's death-throws. Once the game starts and Pitt punches them in the mouth, it will be a wrap. Pitt is going to have over 10 sacks and 20TFL this week. Their DL is going to rip this OL a new ******* and Perry will be running for his life.
We win 1 more game this season FIU, maybe 2 if we are lucky.

Go watch the last two seasons of last chance you, that’s exactly what we have in a head couch minus the recruiting. A straight bull **** artist that knows all.....the admin keeps falling for this **** it’s amzing some fans can see it during the fuqin hiring process. It was like life was over when I heard he got hired I died laughing with my brother cause I couldn’t cry or get hurt, it was so UM to hire this fraud
