Blake James and scueduling

He is the worst AD or all time.

Does any other AD in the country not have their 2017 non-conference scuedule complete already? Actually does any other AD not have their non-conference scuedules complete through at least 2019 or 2020?

Also does any other Power 5 AD agree to home and home series with Appalachian State, Toledo, Arkansas State and FIU? Granted that playing at FIU is hardly a road game, but it still means we'll have to play at FIU's godawful stadium that sits about 500 people.

And this isn't even touching on his retention of Golden for 2015, and the rumors that he didn't even want to fire Golden after the Clemson game but the BOT forced him to.

Serious question. Are you retarded?

Serious question. Are you defending Blake James?
I am. first off he has scheduled some great non con games for the next 10 years. we get a game with gators, we got 2 with texas a and m, we got lsu, Miami has some stud games in non conference lined up , as for 17 schedule that's on the guy before james. games are lined up 4-5 yrs in advance usually.

I honestly don't know what an AD does besides hire and fire coaches. Well a good AD schedules and fundraises in advance which BTW haven't heard anything about the football facilities breaking ground yet. I know we need to raise the total funds first so how is that coming? So basically 2 out 3 fails any of us could have closed the deal on Rick he wanted to be here. Face it Maine is the Tim Cook of college football.

I'd honestly rather have an extra bye on our schedule than have a home -away scheduled with Toledo.....Just sayin.

But he has also done a decent job at scheduling some top games. In the past like 2-3 yrs he's scheduled LSU 2018, UF 2019, Rutgers 2019, Michigan St 2020 & 2021, Texas A&M 2022 & 2023.

**** the fact that he was able to schedule those pussies in Gainesville is impressive. We are just going to have to accept that we are going to have 2 away or neutral site non-con games a year. And obviously for the fans it kinda sucks unless the game is still close by like FIU, but clearly we don't actually lose money by giving up the home game, or else we wouldn't ****ing do it.

this. some people just like to as es goin .

In all honesty, does anyone have any idea who we could schedule? Any P5 or G5 available or is it certainly fcs?

The Worst, now that's a stretch.Let's start with two far worse, the two that bailed on the U and went to Texas Tech and
Nebraska. Then throw in a number fired for sexual proclivities;i.e. example Minn.AD.
Now for what James has done.!)Hired Richt,brilliant.2.)Hired Larranga.Even more brilliant.3)Nearly
completing finance indoor athletic facility.Great.4)Fired Golden in middle of season.
Biggest problem with James, his resume looks almost too good.

Fundraise is number1

Group,

I can tell you he did not schedule Toledo, that was scheduled by the AD Kirby ?? who was in place two guys prior to him taking over. That AD had ties to the MAC and fed one of his old biuddies a big payday in Toledo.
A plus, is that we will have a game in the Midwest close to Michigan and Columbus. believe or not, some people in Ann Abor were not happy to hear Miami was going to play in their back yard as they know the name attracts attention.

Why would they have already broken ground on it when they just announced the lead donation like 2.5 months ago? So you're saying he's failed because we currently are in the fundraising stage? That makes no sense.

Yet you fail to mention under him we got the Shwartz Center which we raised $18M for and He's already been making plans to upgrade the Hecht center so it looks as nice as the Shwartz center. Greentree just went under like a $3M renovation. Then theres the Million dollar training table that Golden wouldn't shut up about as well as the upgraded locker room and players lounge. He basically got an athletic dining hall. He also signed a deal with Adidas where we are making over $8M/yr when nike was paying us under $4M. Then The Basketball stadium just underwent a $2M upgrade as well as a name change. We are in the top 10% for academic APR. And now he's getting us a IPF.

Blake James has had a great last couple of years, and the biggest complaint against him really is that he schedules a few road games and that he was basically a year late on the Golden firing, but even that ended with us getting Richt, so its not a big deal anymore.

At least someone gets it. Look at the facts people. Do your research. There are renovations being done everywhere across multiple sports as well. He also has given Richt everything he has asked for. That's called delivering and closing. Let's not forget he has locked up other great coaches like WBB Katie Meier. Didn't Coach L receive an extension recently as well?

Every one of you mouth breathers loved him when he hired Richt

Ohio state played them. Made the playoffs. He knows something [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

With Miami needing to add a quality opponent for 2017, Miami would be available to play in a 2017 season Kick Off game.

If Miami has a monster bowl game and Kaaya comes back, I think Miami could get into the 2017 Camping World Kickoff Game. Paired against a team who's fan base travels well.

Go Canes

******** became AD on February 8, 2013.

MSU was not him.

Michigan State & Miami Schedule 2020-21 Home-and-home Football Series

He did schedule Arkansas State and App State. No comment necessary.

Arkansas State, Miami (FL) Finalize 2014 & 2017 Home-and-Home Football Series

He scheduled Cincinnati a home and home.

Arkansas St is getting close to 2 million to play big name teams on the road.

ASU football scheduling news: Red Wolves will play at Alabama on Sept. 8, 2018. ASU will get $1.7 million for the game, a new school record.
The game will be played at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia on Sept. 14, 2019. Per the report, Arkansas State will receive a guarantee of $1.8 million.

Missouri play @ Arkansas state last year and would have lost if they hadn't knocked ASU QB out of the game in the 3rd QTR

Most people on here don't realize BJ defended Golden throughout his tenure and had his hand forced in his firing. And before Richt came onto the scene late, our pool of coaching candidates read as the final nail in the coffin for Miami.

BJ is a puppet and completely out of his league at a D1 school. His last gig was AD of Maine people. He's shown nothing but be completely overwhelmed and is just another example of our athletics department hiring someone who is learning on the job.

Biggest problem with James, his resume looks almost too good.

A few things to get the record straight:

1. Blake James was hired on February 8, 2013. Jim Larrañaga was named the 12th head coach of the University of Miami basketball program on April 22, 2011.
So the biggest and only successful hire we had recently had nothing to do with Blake James.

2. He didn't fire Al Golden. That was Frenk. Blake James was still supporting him that week. Stop with this narrative that Blake fired him. In addition, even if Blake fired him, it was way too late. There was no reason Al Golden should have been the coach in 2014, let alone 2015 when he was still employed in the position. It was way too ***ing late and way overdue.

3. It took him 5 years to graduate from Minnesota State University- Mankato. Prior to Miami, he was the senior AD at Maine. Yes, Maine. Big bad Maine. His bio featured him being a ticket salesman (Blake James Biography - University of Miami Hurricanes Official Athletic Site). The only reason he was hired as Miami's AD was because Donna decided that a puppet was needed and he was the senior position when Shawn Eichorst resigned in October, 2012.

---------------------------------

Miami has hired atrocious ADs recently, Eichorst and Hocutt are ***cing atrocious ADs. Blake being better than them is not an accomplishment.

As for Richt being a brilliant hire, I don't know how anyone can say that at this juncture. He was fired and Blake, without any plan, scooped up an unemployed coach. We just went 8-4, we just matched the regular season win total from the year before. We just watched VT and a new HC win the Coastal in year 1. Hopefully this becomes a brilliant hire but at this juncture it was purely luck that Richt is at Miami. But for UGA firing Richt, Miami has a different HC.
