12 scholarships over 3 years. Lol wut????? That's not happening. Like Duval said, this is not Miami first incident with the NCAA.

most of ya'll are some delusional mofos

the situation isn't as bad as the media makes it seem (or opposing fans) but it is still a major investigation

1 more bowl and 15 shollies is skating IMO

This. It reall is not that hard to. Understand.

15 schollys over three years is "skating". It is still major investigation we could get 30 or so over three years like you said. Not a big deal.

15 Schollies is far from skating, and is pretty harsh actually. UNC, whos scandal lacked the publicity and sensationalism of ours, but was more severe, only lost nine schollies over three years.

I think you're confusing them with OSU.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions announced Monday the University of
North Carolina
failed to monitor its football program and will not be bowl eligible following the 2012 season. UNC also will have to forfeit 15 scholarships over the next three seasons.

man they are about to treat us like a pedophile stepping in the dorms for the first time in prison. oh it's gone be some moaning and screaming at nighttime

and Boise flew completely under the radar by the media but went ham with their violations and the NCAA challenged them to a pillow fight over them

we'll get worse just for being Miami and the way the media blew up at the beginning

you can't look at one schools sanctions and project them for another

I didn't confuse them with OSU. I did mix-up their self imposed sanctions of 9 schollies as their NCAA punishment, which is 15.

My point was that 15 schollies isn't skating. It's a pretty stiff penalty.

I understand that the NCAA can dish out what it wants, when it wants, and that what another school received as punishment can't really be used as a barometer for what another will get. That still won't make it any less bull**** if we get as harsh a penalty as UNC, which had more severe infractions.

what you think about this **** SHUNN?

One more bowl ban and 15 scholies for 3 years. 4 years probation. This is Miami so they will hand down something harsh to make it look like they acted tough. But not so harsh that it hurts the program. They need to get the investigation over with. The OJ trial didn't last this long.

Corben doesnt know sh*t i'll ask Perryman52 for the inside scoop.

UNC got 15 scolly taken away. They self imposed 6 and NCAA took 9 more away.

hmmm, ok so I've got my head in da sand eh??
lets look at this logically shall we?
First off, unless they hit us for LOIC the NCAA will not likely look beyond the SOL in question so the baseball infractions would be out of the equation and ergo so would the "repeat offender"
next lets look at what the alleged violations were? Drinks, boat rides, lap dances. Players were suspended and had to repay the $$ to charity, none except Vernon were that much money.
now lets look at recent sanctions handed down
OSU - players received illegal benefits, Tressel knew and COVERED IT UP!!!!!!!!!! No self imposed bowl ban He was fired and they got... Failure to monitor, 9 schollies over 3 years and 1 year bowl ban
UNC - Academic FRAUD, payments from AGENTS to players, recruiting violations, Failure to monitor - 15 Schollies over 3 years 1 year bowl ban.
USC - Reggie bush, total friggin coverup, major payola scandal, USC told NCAA to F off, refused to cooperate - 30 schollies over 3 years

So lets recap shall we??? low end 9 schollies (3 per year) for covering up illegal ish to high end of 30 schollies (10/year on average) for major cash payout to a heisman trophy winner, inside cover up, uncooperative

Now lets look at Miami
No coverup by the admin or coaches (former or current)
Minor individual violations
100% cooperation by the admin
Self imposed bowl ban
vast majority of former players not saying a word, cant force them to talk therefore no real way to prove guilt
Magnitude of the violations as a whole are not even close to what happened at OSU, UNC or USC

Add it up and i think we get 9-12 schollies over 3 years with the bowl ban self imposed as time served or worse case one additional bowl ban

The best thing that could happen would be a 2nd bowl ban. It wouldn't affect recruiting because the 2012 class is already signed, and it won't affect the 2013 class.

The only thing they matters is recruiting. I'd give up a bowl to save as few as 3 scholarships.

Miami is not UNC, OSU, or USC. like someone else said, you CAN'T use other schools infractions/penalties as a baseline. Depending on the school, THE NCAA can do whatever they want, it DOES NOT have to be fair or just. The NCAA has no one to judge them on the punishments they hand out, besides fans of the schools. Truthfully the fans are nobodies to the NCAA, and thEir right. Once again determining what Miami is going to get hit with is all speculation. Anywhere from 15-24 scholarship over three years and 1 to 2 bowl bans seems realistic.
