Biggest recruiting misses in school history

Some of us define that differently… “a miss” to me is a guy who wanted to come and would have but we weren’t interested.

Guys who we seriously recruit that choose to go elsewhere is part of the game. Can’t land them all.

For example, I saw an interview with PS2 where he said he knew early on he was going to go to either Alabama or LSU… that’s not a miss. He never seriously considered us.

Or the players who were interested in us because of the relationship they had with a coach. The coach left or got fired. The kid is no longer considering us… that’s a miss?

Two that jump out to me that we could’ve had:

Zay Flowers
Lavonte David

Teddy Bridgewater, Amari Cooper, Dalvin Cook, Devonta Freeman are the ones to me who had pretty devastating consequences for us. Patrick Peterson was given insane bags so hard to fault and practically everyone noticed Lamar too late so can't blame ourselves too much.

David will forever be a cool story as he was the least heralded Northwestern recruit in that legendary class, and he goes on to have a long and successful NFL career. Sean Spence had some NFL success, and Jacory some moments with us, but the rest of that group never amounted to anything in college.

For me Dalvin cook. He single-handedly beat us during his entire tenure at FSU
I was just thinking about this earlier today. I saw some article on Saquon Barkley. It reminded me that as Redskins fan, I got to witness Saquon Barkley absolutely obliterate and embarrass my team three times this year.

I tried to remember if another player in any sport had single handedly dominated my team at least 3 times. Immediately, Dalvin Mother ****** Cook came to mind. Thank God we only had to face him once per season.
