Bentavious Thompson UM commit

I'm okay with losing him

Why is that.?

Because he is average. There is nothing special about him. And dude is like 19 and still doesn't dominate the comp.

Pretty much this. I think Burns brings everything to the table that Thompson does (with more upside). After that, I'd prefer to bring in dynamic RB options with higher upside like Felix and McFarland.

Thompson, age-wise, is supposed to be in the same class as Jaquan Johnson. How come we didn't hear about Thompson as a star on that Killian squad along with Jaquan when they played together (and Thompson was playing against his age competition). Now he's older than his comp and his main advantage is being stronger than his tacklers. Doesn't scream next level upside to me.

Same could have been said about Ridley now he is a 20 year old freshman All American

Not at all. Ridley dominated in hs, Thompson did not

Same could have been said for 500+ average college players who were maxed out in high school.

The type of game and talent Ridley displayed showed huge talent and upside. I'll take huge talent even if the guy is 30 playing in HS (I know that's not possible). But I just don't see Thompson's strengths as translating in a major way. Not saying he's a scrub by any means, but I'm not that impressed and see better options

Cant hold that against him .. So was Cook in HS much much older than his competition.

Cook has elite speed, which translates against any level of competition. He also completely dominated the competition, which Thompson isn't doing.

I'll say it this kid is a scrub he's not 215+ to be a big back

And he slow and below 200 lbs what can he really bring?

Are you really saying he has to be big or fast to be a good RB? Everyone else's post I can agree with but judging someone SOLELY off of his size/speed instead of his actual play is retarded.

Why is it so hard for some of you guys to accept that other guys don't see anything special or elite in Thompson's game?

Because most posters here don't seem to be able to speak objectively about recruiting.

If someone is currently committed to Miami or expressing heavy interest? They're criminally underrated and just as talented, if not more so, than higher-ranked players committed to other programs. If a recruit doesn't seem interested in UM or they don't have an offer yet, they're nothing special and don't deserve the hype they're getting.

The same people backing Thompson and shouting down those opposed to the Scott take will immediately stop defending them if they flip or get dropped. Guaranteed.

We are actively recruiting 3 RB's that are better

Anthony McFarland Jr, Adarius Lemons, and Darrien Felix are all better. Colin Wilson Would be the 4th and Kyshaun Bryan would be the fifth if we heard more about them in recruiting.

technically it's all "pure speculation" until they produce on a college field.
