Bentavious Thompson (RB) decommits

Was he originally offered by Golden or Richt?

Either way, good luck to the kid. He handled it with class.

Class? He went in twitter ceying the coaches werent showing him any live at the paradise camp.

I didn't see that.

He deleted it pretty quickly. I feel for the kid. He was offered by the previous staff and he REALLY wanted to come to UM. New staff just doesn't seem that interested in him. Gotta be frustrating. Seems we are at the reasonable resolution, though.

Rejection can be a tough pill to swallow.

I bet Richt wishes he could drop a few more guys that Golden offered. Problem is, they're already on the team.

Dude was the worst talent evaluator ever.

Some still lauded him as a good talent evaluator despite facts. Still didn't understand the purpose behind his camp. Most of the kids offered were not ready to play at UM.

D-Money said it quite accurately. Those Golden Camps were not designed to find the next under the radar 5 star recruit, they were designed to find the next Al Golden. The under-developed kid with the big heart and limited athleticism that could overcome all odds with work ethic, yada yada yada...

I knew UM was in trouble when they stopped by Western one time, shortly after Golden and Co got here. Not only did they not offer our kid (Moreau), but they asked our HC about an explosive slot WR that Flanagan had at the time. (kid ran a 10.2 in the 100m) No big deal, college recruiters do that all the time. However, it was the coach's assessment on the kid that was comical.

They liked the kid but said that he "runs his routes too fast". LOL

Do yall not have WR coaches at The U?!?! Is it not your job to refine little things like that?!?!

LOL @ not recruiting a 10.2 kid because he runs his routes too fast.

I just wish Richt was here a little sooner. I feel like a couple of my former kids would've definitely been offered by this staff. (as well as some other kids that I was high on) Would've been nice to watch them here. Instead they offered kids like Dennis Turner, Danny Dillard, Larry Hope, Nate Dortch, Nigel Bethel, Ryan Mayes, etc. Kids with stellar offer lists.

Trajan Bandy never gets offered if Golden is still here.

**** Macho....I wish you were kidding with that, but I know you aren't. The last staff wrote the book on what not to do as a staff, but that right there is probably the most damning thing I've ever read about them.

Which coach specifically said that? I know we all need to move on, but that deserves its own thread.

My fault, I thought you were talking about Northwestern.

Hahaaa sad... I was baffled by how they didn't prioritize speed.

This kids film looks decent one thing that sticks out though is size seems like a tweener to me ..lean like a WR but playing RB. If your going to be a tweener you need to have elite speed Thompson's speed is good not great.

In the right program he could flourish however if you compare him to Richt's first RB commit Homer 5'11 195 , Thompson 6'0 185 he just doesn't stack up Homer looks much faster looking at Thompson's body type he looks like a kid that could switch to DB in college.
