I didn’t say there was a decision as to whether or not to come back. I said when you’re a first-team all-American and then you’re still in college, the expectation is to take another step in your progression. What does taking another step beyond being a first-team All-America look like. It looks like 26 and 20. Not necessarily exactly, and not only those 2 dudes, but that kind of impact. You wreck games. You are the best player on the field. You are AVOIDED by every OC you play. None of that happened this season. Again, I’m not hating on the kid. He wasn’t awful. He made plenty of plays. But when you’re a returning FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICA, you are expected to be the best player on the football field in every game you play. Was Kam the best player on the field in every game this year? No. He wasn’t even as good as he was last year, and if you don’t believe me, check whether or not the AP named him a first-team all-American again.

Excellent player. Fantastic. We’ll miss him. But he wasn’t as good in 2023 as he was in 2022. And a lot of it, imo, is because he got greedy too much and it burned him. And then coaches saw that and started literally putting him under stress when you’d think they’d just try to avoid him.
He frequently played hero ball. He would jump routes the qb wasn’t even looking at. He would guess where the throw was headed and guessed right a few times but also took himself out of plays frequently and several of them led to critical TDs for our opponent. I actually thought James Williams was much better for us this year than cam was.

So all the pieces might fit after all...

@smack99
Oh My God Wow GIF

He blew a crazy amount of coverages he just camouflaged it some with picks. He giveth and taketh away . He’s always been risky back there but this year he went ham lol. Imo he was pressing for the draft and Oc’s took advantage of him.
Dawg he was gambling last season too lol. He gotta clean that up before the league. But it’s not something that just happened this year.

Not sure what point you are trying to prove? I just meant it would be nice if they also grab a safety who has more experience. Someone who has started a bunch and had stats to back it up would be considered more of a sure thing than a young guy who doesn't have a ton of starting experience.
No point! Jus saying every position can do better

He blew coverages last year but this year he gave up long td’s and third & forevers being selfish playing for picks. Which is beyond reckless for that position. Pop Warner level safeties know better. The thing is he watches a lot of film , Oc’s watch more. He gets manipulated.

Started a thread on this and said the same thing. FSU couldn’t move the ball until that second half pass for 60 yards. Kam was in man coverage in the slot, came off his guy and tried jumping a slant to Keon, leaving his man free. 60 yards later down to our 2. They punch it in and all of a sudden the whole game flipped and they took the lead and never relinquished.
He was playing for himself all year and gave up massive plays against Gt, UNC, LV and FSU.

It is.

We got so many guys committing right now, it's hard to keep track...

🤣
LMAO Good! I thought at first it was Blount, now I’ve redacted my statement and think it’s Hayes…

I will say this though, no matter if it’s for you or against you… if a kid has lied to another staff in the past you have to take everything they say with a grain of salt, I mean at end of day they’re kids.
