That’s what I’m saying, this isn’t even remotely close to a playoff team unless TVD somehow completely wills it which I highly highly doubt. But this team should win 8-9 games.

Last year we went into the season knowing linebacker, o line, corner, wide receiver were simply not at the P5 level.

Going into this year, there isn’t a room that you’re sitting looking at going holy **** this is not a P5 caliber room if all the guys who we think are coming, come

Unfortunately, it is our most well rounded roster in quite a bit of time which isn’t saying much.
So I’ll agree in terms of the starters. If we stay healthy (big if), team should be much better. Not ready to put a # out til the portal and grad additions are done, but definitely should see sizable improvement. Problem is that usually never happens and our depth is pretty bleh. That can knock off wins quickly.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen with the rest of the portal. I think only getting Kirk at WR would be pretty underwhelming considering how much people have talked about the dedication in the portal there. Maybe he ends up a solid guy like Colbie, but it’s a glaring issue when you can only get JUCO guys to come.

Ditto with DT (with whoever we end up with). Still need a safety (there’s a grad guy I’d like to add) and a LB imo, even if it’s Nixon. Forget a backup QB at this point.

I think Richards ends up being the safety...I know there's a lot of corner talk but I'm not sure I see it in those clips.

Oh ok gotcha I think maybe I didn’t take the time to really understand your point

My mistake im with you now

Graduates or guys already in. That’s it

So how are we making room with all this talk then?

Is room for 2 at the moment accurate?

I guess we can expect to see a graduation from someone that participated in spring ball then? Mammarelli? Redding? Ladsen? Lichenstein? Are we not having a long snapper on scholly? Because I'm coming up with 83 up to date (and most expect WR Kirk in so that would be 84)

We are gonna finish 7-5, im inching to 7.5 with the addition of Allen and Richard. What changes that? Dawson coaches out his mind, Guidry coaches out his mind and TVD plays like 2021, or better.
We’ve seen a lot of mediocre college teams ride the backs of QBs to really good seasons

We know TVD has the talent. We know weapons will need to emerge.

But yeah he gets hot working with Dawson and some cool things can happen despite the obvious flaws in the team. OL being a huge factor of course

They were not concerned about spots. If all the guys visiting wanted in they would’ve taken them. Theres always ways to free up some spots if you want to. Guys graduate and can move on if you want that spot.

Ok then...So it must be someone from whom I listed plus maybe 1 or 2 more? BC it seems like almost all the graduations are accounted for, and the portal is closed. And not saying that it can't happen, but it's weird to see a kid play spring ball then graduate...Not saying it doesn't happen, but it's definitely not common.

I‘m sure that bridge will be crossed if spots are needed. There’s a reason you wait to see before having that conversation.

these transfers cool but we got talent that needs to be developed on the roster either way💯
Transfers are a stop gap to keep the spigot going in regards to recruiting. We need to show it on the field and this year is extremely important or else we may find it difficult recreating the results from the 23 class.

Okay where are the jags/holes then? Where are the glaring weaknesses that Miami has had the past 10 plus years? I’m not saying every room would be full of dogs, but every room would be at least respectable/average at the P5 level which is something Miami hasn’t had in a long long time.

Everyone who is going to be in the two deep is respectable.

Assuming we land the WR, DT, and linebacker the only rooms I’m slightly worried about depth wise are safety, tight end, and quarterback.

Linebacker we will have Francisco locking down a spot with a strong linebacker transfer rolling with Biss, Flagg, and Smith. That’s not including the freshmen. That gives you 5 linebackers that cover 2 spots that you can put out there and not completely **** your pants. Not to mention B Washington who was reportable locking down a spot in spring. So maybe 6 guys.

Wide receiver if we get someone who can roll with young and restrepo it turns into a solid room with good depth. You have B smith, George, Ray Ray, Horton who played well in spring. That gives you 7 guys there. Not a dawg in the group as of right now even though I’m high on Ray Ray but a solid room compared to what we’ve been rolling out.

O line is going to be night and day better. You have 3 spots you don’t have to worry about if they stay healthy with cohen, Lee, and rivers. Throw in a five star who looked at home in spring at tackle and cooper/McCoy in the last guard spot…you’re sitting on a solid o line. Then you hopefully have Zion, McCoy, Samson rolling in when needed. That gives you 8 solid linemen to work with. Then who knows what kinsler will bring to the table.

D tackle we have Taylor, rose hopefully, the Purdue kid, gore, Lichtenstein, maybe JHH, Moten who had a great spring. Throw in the ole miss kid who I thought we were going to have, that’s 8 kids who can hold it down. That’s not including Bain who will lineup inside at times too.

Running back we have Chaney, parish, Allen, fletcher, and Johnson. Obviously running back depth can be challenged quickly, but those are 5 legit P5 running backs. Then hopefully citizen can give us something to make it 6.

Not a shot at certain players, but unless we get absolutely killed by injuries guys like Ryan ragone, denis, the UAB back shouldn’t see the field.

😂

Not sure why we are still sitting here worried about spots unless it’s just because we are bored and making conversation

People don’t even know who is being recruited let alone what spots are available

Lol..Yup couple k of us on this sites and no one knows who's being recruited. Makes sense.

We can nudge our graduates out to make room.

Have you just not been paying attention since Mario got here?

Or are you just the type of person that likes to worry about **** you shouldn’t?

That's my point...Who's a graduate that isn't an important piece?

I guess Lichenstein fits the bill...Maybe Mammarelli or Redding? Seems like most of the older kids have left or already counted on leaving. But I guess we do have a couple.

I’d add Ladson. Ragone if he’s still on scholarship. I’m sure there are a few more.

People going to get tight if I name jags that will be my opinion. When I talk UM caliber Im talking bonified (pause) 1st round guys/Leaders by producing. To say our roster is stacked and we should win 10 is wyling IMO (not saying that u said 10 wins). I dont care for names or HS highlights I care about D1 production and guys dominating the opponent. Biss has been meh, he got the talent but the gem was Perkins and thats what I expect cause I grew up watching Vilma and DJ thats our bar and I am not even naming Ray and the others etc. Francisco did look good in spring and having Flagg we all know is a jag and a weakness teams will attack and rightfully so. They will beat him regularly and everyone knows this they just dont want to say it, so having him at 2 means u have no depth. Bobby looks great but all those guys are first year cats we cant act like they the sh just yet they need to learn this level and will struggle at times. They have to develop their bodies as well for college and guys rarely come in like Bain and kill it. Again on Flagg hes a good dude though a good kid but I speak facts. I like how he is and wish him success which he will have just not in the NFL.

WR Smith has no explosive ability so far but hes straight line fast, X is a dog shows up but hes not a number 1 but hes a great player. C Young looks like the guy we have to hope he breaks out, and Ray Ray is legit I been saying hes a stud. He will be the best WR just off potential IMO. The rest is all questions and speed/explosive problems, although Washington got the jets I still want to see how his speed translates in college. OL is way improved for sure I will agree with that, but we do have a first year guy (FM) and I think he will dominate the ACC. Against real comp he may struggle cause hes young but he may be that first round top 10 pick type off the rip. I dont think very highly of Zion hes in my jag jar, he has a ways to go to get out of it but I never understood the hype but thats just me.

Taylor the only DT that has true NFL draft buzz and Bain is a legit 1st rounder type IMO so he will hit the ground running. Thats a kid u dont even have to coach, those are the Saban Kirby types just throw them in and they ball. Purdue kid meh Lichtenstein is a jag, Moten has to be the real deal for us to have some sort of depth cause the drop off is big time when we subbing IMO.

RB so far we got guys that cant run away from people, they are pretty decent but where are the monster home run hitters? CJ is that but hes small and if he cant break arm tackles against legit SEC defenses he would get swallowed up. If someone breaths on Chaney he dies immediately but hes pretty decent by NFL standards. If he has giddy up and stays healthy he would and can surprise me. True Miami backfield? NOPE. Citizen has the most upside but he caught the Chaney.

I hear what u saying but to me the roster isnt as deep as people think, we got two more recruiting classes to get it clicking. When Leonard Taylor is leaving thats when this roster should be built where its true UM caliber. Again I disagree but its my opinion and would like to be wrong but we not ready yet. Im cool with the debate if anyone disagrees I dont take it personal, and a good argument can change my mind and I could be wrong.

Also just because we get a transfer doesnt make them a great player. If they just a body they just that a body. And what are bodies? most of the time they jags dead ***. If u getting that UGA DT that transferred then u coking with grease
