This is really great to hear. I know that the initial report on Deen was positive but this exceeded all my expectations in terms of what the coaches think. With the situation at DT and being so thin there this year, we need all hands on deck. Potentially having two All ACC DTs in Leonard Taylor and Branson Deen will go a long way to 9Deen injured his shoulder just before the Spring game and had to miss time after getting it cleaned up.
Coaches honestly believe they stole one here as he’s been even better than they evaluated him. They believe he’s going to make an All-ACC team this year.
Guidry runs a ton of five-man fronts with two 3T on the DL and that causes issues for the OL since traditionally the C has to reach that 3T one gap over and now you’ve got two penetrators that can get into a gap before a C can reach.
Before he was hurt, Deen was the player mentioned the most as the transfer impressing the most.
