Bat Signal - UCF C Matt Lee Transfers to Miami

Don’t forget we had 3 starters, and a back that was starting on the Oline get hurt, that made a big difference in our run game being inadequate

That’s a 7-5 line right there.

Only Cooper is physically imposing. Cohen is good, but he’s not going to **** you up on every down.

Okunlola and Mauigoa at least have the potential to do that.

Miami can’t continue to roll out the same G5 level scrubs and expect to win the ACC.
I want to see us go after a big time tackle in the portal who can help us solidify our line I think if healthy we can have a great offensive line

How does Lee have 2 years of eligibility left being a 3 year starter? Is it the extra Covid year?
Yes. He was a true fresh in 2019 played 4 games and redshirted, Covid year as a redshirt fresh in 2020, 3rd year fresh in 2021, then 4th year soph in 2022.

We haven’t even scratched the surface yet lol. This stuff will get ugly as **** the next couple years.
I agree

I didn’t want to be the old man in the room when this all started to happen but there was no way this was going to end well

Not to go down this rabbit hole too much since there’s so much nuance but the whole “paying players” thing was always Pandoras Box

Yes Mario may have told him he can try RT here. Which I’m not opposed to he’s got very good feet and he’s strong as an ox. Better than ever guy we got currently
Yeah either Cohen or Rivers is what I’m hoping

RT has been a disaster for us for years

My best 5 at the start of spring and fall camp LT. Zion LG Rivers C Lee RG Cooper RT Cohen think that’s a ACC best group right there
Lee changes everything to be honest. Such a huge pickup.

No idea what’s going on with Zion but I put the same starting lineup as you did I think that’s a good group, and then you have the freshmen coming in and lots of them are capable

For what its worth the Assistant OL coach wished him a happy birthday this morning.

Not to turn this into a Zion thread, but my guess is he stays, doesn’t crack the starting rotation after spring ball, then hits the portal.

Still think we need one more interior lineman and then we’re set.

Would be awesome to be in a spot where a kid like Zion doesn’t crack the starting rotation. Not sure if we are there or not but things look a lot better

The depth last year was terrifying and it played out even worse than we thought
