Barry Jackson....Step it up boys (and Guidry)

WF game will say a lot about Guidry and if can coach. We need to see personnel changes getting guys back to their best positions. We need to see the edge being set. And we need to see good coverage schemes. If all three of these things are not accomplished we are cooked. And Guidry will be the fall guy.

That's not how "fall guy" works. His job is entirely the defense.

The buck stops with Mario ,don’t leave him out

Legit article from Jackson! Some of the homers here continue to live in denial expecting the starters will play better. Appears that Mario Cristobal is not developing a high percentage of his starting 22 from the OL to almost the entire Defense! And where are the underclassmen, 23 and 24 classes specifically? All you have is a spattering of those players contributing.

The OL has 3 Cristobal recruits starting in CiCi, /Mcoy/Bell, Cooper. Rivers was a Manny recruit who was entrenched already and Carpenter transferred, we whiffed on Lew whos currently starting at Auburn.

Not sure OL is where you want to go

To play devil's advocate, we will see next year how many Mario recruits will be starting since his first full cycle will be either juniors or RS Sophs

TrumpyCane not going to **** on Mario for that 2022 class he had a few weeks to sign

Tbf TrumpyCane doesn't **** on Mario for anything so the bar isn't high. Kind object.

I'll never cease to be impressed by how the "hometown" media loves to bash the hometown team.

//and spare me your "spittin' fax" bull****

Complete truth.

Show me this same article (after ONE 5-point loss) in the newspapers of Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, etc.

There are valid criticisms to be made. But blasting half the team, by name, is just par for the course in the SoFla media.

^ this. IDC if you want to blast Guidry. but leave the kids names out of the press. They know they haven't played their best. I am never a fan of this kind of stuff

I'm as concerned as anyone and have questioned the development many times but if you're pointing to that and using 2024 class as an example, you lost me. Way too young to take into account.

The only real class I think you can even begin to judge yet is 2023 and they're still young.

2022 had 2 weeks to sign. Lots of misses but also hit on a few. Some others washed out for uncontrollable reasons like injury and off-field.

Keep in mind, still young but looking at the 2023 class
Big hits - Mauigoa, Bain, Fletcher
Solid hits - Aguirre, Bryant, R Williams, Brown, Joyce
Somewhere in the middle - Okunlola, Johnson, Joseph, Horton
Too early to tell - Emory, Carver, Tripp, Kinsler, Tinilau, Bobby/Robby Washington,
Gone/Miss - Wayne, Acheampong, Spencer, Stafford, Pulliam

Some highly rated guys in limited roles like ST coverage units, punt return, kick return, etc. but we'll be just fine at that rate. The hits just need to start coming at LB/DB. LB recruiting wasn't good in 2023 as 2 transferred, 1 moved to DE, and the other barely plays. Delayed it another year there but looked good in 2024. TBD. And we all know how DB recruiting has gone and still isn't fixed but looks better in 2025. Mario's fault, his program, but it takes time to get everything right.

Horton is solid.

Barry hates the team. Okay. I’ll roll with that. But ya’ll don’t too? lol
Imagine hating the best team we have had in over 20 years with truly elite offensive output lol. Defense has been getting more painful to watch, but it's not like we have no hope there. If our Dline becomes the impact group that they have the capability to be, All it really takes is our defense creating 1-2 turnovers per game, we can beat anyone in the country because of our offense.

Barry and the Mopes taking a victory lap!!

We all know the defense has issues, what was the point of this hit piece? I know Mario and Barry aren't best of friends, but Miami has one of it's best seasons in 20 years to this point, and this is what we get from our media. This is one reason why Miami is a very unique job. Georgia, Alabama, Clemson you won't get this from their "writers". The mopers who love to complain just eat this up. Facts bro, no lies told bro, spitting bro..

Bain was out for half the season with an injury. Mauigoa is nursing an injury playing through it. He is also having to not blitz as much because of secondary issues. Porter is having to play Nickel because of Brown's injury. Barron is on his career path. He is a good player, and I think he is chasing stats freelancing some. Cooper has regressed, don't know what is going on there.

Obviously, the defense is a major issue we all know it at this point. I am not sure what the hit piece purpose is? Why put the Booger comment in there? He is a SEC BLOWHARD whose own alma mater looks way more unprepared than Miami. That is a joke.

Guidry units needs to play better, and he hasn't done a great job this year. Also in regards to playing zone, we rushed 2 droppped 9 against Louisville in zone, and gave up a 28 yard TD pass on 3rd and long. We also played zone when Cal hit a big play against us.

I think we could mix some in, but let's not pretend that we are going to be signifigantly better playing zone over man.
LOL. he said nothing that hasn't been said on here and he was right in posting it. the defense sucks. Guidry has been awful at his job.

Kiko shouldn't be in a canes uniform anymore. porter has been bad at corner period this year (he got beat on the boundary against GT for a td last week).

this team is poorly coached on defense.
