Barry Jackson....Step it up boys (and Guidry)

One thing that seems pretty certain is that regardless of how this season ends, Mario needs to ****can most of the defensive staff. There’s been massive regression on that side of the ball and Guidry gets cooked almost every game.

Barry and the Mopes taking a victory lap!!

We all know the defense has issues, what was the point of this hit piece? I know Mario and Barry aren't best of friends, but Miami has one of it's best seasons in 20 years to this point, and this is what we get from our media. This is one reason why Miami is a very unique job. Georgia, Alabama, Clemson you won't get this from their "writers". The mopers who love to complain just eat this up. Facts bro, no lies told bro, spitting bro..

Bain was out for half the season with an injury. Mauigoa is nursing an injury playing through it. He is also having to not blitz as much because of secondary issues. Porter is having to play Nickel because of Brown's injury. Barron is on his career path. He is a good player, and I think he is chasing stats freelancing some. Cooper has regressed, don't know what is going on there.

Obviously, the defense is a major issue we all know it at this point. I am not sure what the hit piece purpose is? Why put the Booger comment in there? He is a SEC BLOWHARD whose own alma mater looks way more unprepared than Miami. That is a joke.

Guidry units needs to play better, and he hasn't done a great job this year. Also in regards to playing zone, we rushed 2 droppped 9 against Louisville in zone, and gave up a 28 yard TD pass on 3rd and long. We also played zone when Cal hit a big play against us.

I think we could mix some in, but let's not pretend that we are going to be signifigantly better playing zone over man.

I would ask people to remember last year the secondary had guys who have played together in either 7 or 7's or high school ball together. Please watch this clip of Jaden Davis (pre NFL draft) talking about the cohesion he had with Kam, James Williams, TCorey, and the other guys in the back end. They were local guys who grew up together and played together. We brought in Meesh who had never played with local guys, and Jadis Richard who is a great player but was a Vanderbilt transfer and not a local guy. The trust and knowing what the other guy is going to do is lacking this year.

No other team/fanbase thinks like this. You really think the reason they don’t trust each other is because they didn’t play high school ball together???

Those guys trusted each other because they were all multi year starters who understand their assignments on the field and didn’t constantly blow coverage's, not because they all lived within an hour of each other

we only complaining bc we know its true
if mario keeps guidry well never be elite
its as simple as that
if we saw week to week improvement that would be somewhat acceptable
but his unit regresses week by week
we look much worse now that we did in the beginning of the year

The media doesn’t exist to coddle and insulate our football program. Good for Barry! Holding Guidry’s feet to the fire is essential for our program to take the next step. Hopefully Mario won’t **** the bed with his next hire. There should be some very good candidates available after the season. No more bargain bin shopping for assistant coaches!

Funny, I just updated my Top 10 slurper rankings and per usual, most are missing from this thread but can be found in the Bank and all sorts of recruiting threads…

Never would have thought Barry speaking facts.

Brother, you know I'm no mope. But a blind man could tell from hearing Kiko hit the turf he missed another tackle. A deaf man could tell from Jaden Harris' hand waving and desperate eyes that the DBs got the coverage wrong again. A mute man can't scream at the TV but still knows that stunting and pinching our DEs during outside runs would end is disaster.

It's not just about zone, it's about designing schemes and coverages for the talent you have, not the talent you wish you had. Loved the hit piece, because it was accurate and because Guidry acts like he's smarter than everyone else when he keeps making dumbass decisions.
