Except they werent in automatic field goal range and then why limit yourself later? If the WR dropped that touchdown pass it would have been 2nd and goal with 1 second left and they would have had to kick for the tie or risk the loss altogether by going for it. If they had more time, that wouldn't have been an issue. Even the announcers commented on not understanding why they killed so much time.
