Bain is not hurt

Is that like saying he’s the world’s tallest midget?

Because all our DL stink right now.

I would also argue Barrow has been our best DL.

Barrow has had the more productive year bc he’s played more. He’s an above average DT imo. Bain is our best DL and has been hurt most of the year. Honestly, are we really debating this?

The biggest disappointment has been baron. Dude has been Houdini most of the year. And they’ve been playing mesidor out of position all year but what do I know?

Bain hasn’t looked like he did a year ago. Still a great effort guy but not the same burst.
My question - is he still recovering from his early season injury?
I’ve been thinking he could be more disruptive this year playing inside next to Barrow, Mesidor and Moten. Put someone with a little more spring at DE.
Too much weight was added, he’s slower

Both can be true.

Bain has been injured and is probably still playing hurt.

Could be injuries, but I also believe he’s overweight. Strong as ****, but he’s lost a st

Bain is 6’2-6’3, there are DEs in the NFL that are that same height around 250-260lbs. Bain is playing at 275lb and looks slow af. He is not a DT, he can not hold that weight. He is a DE. Just bc he not a prototypical 6’4-6’5 DE does not mean he can’t play that position.
He is a tweener. He was most dominate in hs playing inside. He was 275-280 last year but now this year he is too big? Lol even Guidry said his best position is probably DT which is even more reason he sucks as a coach because you not playing him in his best spot

Rueben Bain was definitely not 275-280 last year, go pull up highlights from last year and his year. Bain looks significantly slower and has lost a step, but keep fattening him up and slowing him down.

Him and the rest got manhandled by their OL and company. The guys coaching their OL up are far better than Mario and his mini me.

Sensitive question - are coaches afraid to move him inside once in a while bc he's adamently against it and they are afraid to **** him off?

I wouldn't have bumped Bain inside today bc it was run heavy, so his size was much needed out there. But against pass teams, he could do some damage inside.
We can all see it because it’s no secret. Bain’s got some serious meat on those bones…lol. It’s clear he’s outgrown the defensive end spot.

On the outside, he can’t really speed rush because of his size. He’s got a great motor and quick feet, but he lacks the elite athleticism you want on the edge. Inside, though, he’d be a whole different story, with elite speed and athleticism for that position.

Now it’s up to the coaching staff to sit him down and let him know it’s time to move to the interior. He’s built perfectly for the 3-tech with those big hips, massive legs, and low center of gravity.

It’s a little like Rousseau was here that he got sacks from QBs holding it forever it’s not like he was blowing by guys or showing advanced rush moves. He could be a good SDE and set an edge but teams run towards baron primarily instead anyways

He was definitely 275-280 last year. I remember it well around fall camp last year they were saying that’s the weight he was up to. Nobody is fattening him up

Let’s all ignore he was hurt, the double team he faces often and the holding he gets most drives.

Imagine this defense with out him on the field.

I’m starting to think many of you are just miserable in real life and just use this place to act out.

Ain’t no way we all watch the same games. JAG? 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

Your "sensitive question" is a good one. He may be thinking about his NFL prospects first.

No Rousseau got basically all his sacks rushing from inside where he was just too much for guards. He wasn’t as productive rushing from the edge

Injury early but also looks heavy. Even game 1 he looked heavy. Not sure his weight or where they want his playing weight to be but he is a huge jumbo DE at this point.

Different body type but good take. We all loved Rousseau but you're 100% right he got a lot of sacks with QB's holding it too long, scrambling in pocket and rousseau's long arms got a piece of them.
