Bain hasn’t looked like he did a year ago. Still a great effort guy but not the same burst.
My question - is he still recovering from his early season injury?
I’ve been thinking he could be more disruptive this year playing inside next to Barrow, Mesidor and Moten. Put someone with a little more spring at DE.

I always imagined him being a DT when he got here. Was surprised he played end. Still a great player but I agree.

I hear ya - but I kinda wonder if we put a little more muscle and power in the middle, maybe that will help minimize the need to stunt with whoever you put at end.

GT is a heavy run team as we all saw. We’d have been better with 3 and 4 playing end and forcing runs inside. Get more strength on the field. Let 1 have Qb responsibility all game, he’s better at blitzing anyway.

The personnel usage is gross on defense, we consistently ask okay players to do what they’re worst at.

I think with his IQ, power and mental toughness, he would help dominate on inside runs and that could have a cascading impact to rest of the defense in terms in how you play and maybe who you play.

I hear ya. And i agree iwth personnel decisions being so horrible. But even if he’s not stunting, Bain isn’t getting to the QB. Maybe playing inside would allow him to be faster than C/Gs?

Sensitive question - are coaches afraid to move him inside once in a while bc he's adamently against it and they are afraid to **** him off?

I wouldn't have bumped Bain inside today bc it was run heavy, so his size was much needed out there. But against pass teams, he could do some damage inside.

I don’t hate that reasoning. It could put Bain in better position to make more plays on obvious passing downs.

I’m just so annoyed with the lack of containment that I’d make the De rush 4 yards up field and hold the spot. I don’t care if they don’t make another tackle this year. Stop being beat outside.

The lack of a flag on the hold and facemask on the targeting call against us were egregious.

and that wasn't targeting either, but...

Classic miami fanbase hyping up a player before he's done it for more than 1 season. Hopefully OJ doesn't fall victim to this next year because I'm sure there will be alot people on here claiming he's gonna be the best corner In the acc next season come summer time. I learned my lesson the hard way years ago I'm done just assuming a player is gonna take the next step
