Didn't follow recruiting that year - I know he's a Tennessee guy. Does anyone remember what schools where going after him, why he was interested in Miami? Was he a Cane lock kind of guy who just "always was a UM" fan or was he late time flip?

Basically wondering how Corch Golden landed the dude. Thank you guys.

Post-signing day kid, wanted to play football and basketball. Think it was us or Auburn if memory serves.

His name didn't even come up until after signing day. That's about all i can remember. Kid had serious skills at RB too i just don't think he was big enough to survive at that position.

pretty much this, not a lot of hoopla for him since it was after nsd and all the talks were surrounding MT6 stacy and alex collins

If memory serves Dooley hasn't reached out to him at all. He did that a lot with instate kids. Jones was too late to the party, and we would let him consider playing 2 sports.

I remember reading articles saying he wanted to play football and basketball in college and Tennessee said no to that he was football only. Vanderbilt offered him a chance at both but that was about the biggest school that was giving him that opportunity. I posted on here the other day that I watched one of his games just because I heard how special he was and drove 4 hours to watch him. Ran for 330 or something and 6-7!TDs. At the time I remember reading that he was leaning to USCw or UCLA not sure what was the case there.

Then when Miami reached out to him I remember him saying Miami was his favorite school growing up. I don't think he was ever really serious about Tennessee regardless of whether basketball would have worked out there or not.

^^^ it was UCLA that was the favorite when I watched him play. I have no idea what made that change throughout the process. I also exaggerated the TDs he had 330 total yards and 3 TDs. This was against one of the best teams in the state in Brentwood though. He was a better HS RB than Jalen Hurd and it wasn't close

I recall a story about him always being a miami fan, something like his middle school coaches hosted a team event that included video games and he was all about playing with miami in NCAA.

He was a post signing day addition, never would have been here if we had landed the other pieces we were after.

Urban Meyer wanted him bad and he was going to go there but thanks to Hurlie Brown, he became a Cane. Miami was always his dream school.

It wasn't georgia tech? I always remember it being georgia tech where he was headed till we snagged him late?

When he committed he tweeted that Miami was always his favorite school

I remember UCLA was the favorite and then people thought Mora was going to the NFL and Ohio State was the assumed landing spot but it never happened maybe because of numbers or something.

Not according to an interview he did after signing here. He said Urban really wanted him and already had it setup to meet with him and sign but Hurlie got him to wait. Thankfully he came through and got folden to offer.

Yeah the OSU push was post signing day as well.

Our bi-weekly reminder that no one knows anything about anything.

It was a Gruden to Miami butchering by Ferman type scenario. I don't remember what team it was but they had a writer that had it set in stone. I actually think it was the titans right in Nashville and that would explain why it effected Elders recruitment if he was actually serious about UCLA

Anyone know why he didn't sign anywhere on NSD?

Miami asked him to wait, and he obliged. My guess is, he really wanted to be a Cane so he trusted them to have a spot.

Golden typically had extra spots left after signing day, so it wasn't abnormal for that to be the case.
