Just based off a early educated guess. Regarding class size, attrition, early draft entrants and quality of talent in state at position of WR.
I'd expect about 5 WR in this class. Maybe they would make an exception for a 6th or take someone as an ATH or whatever case may be. 5 sounds realistic.
I could see some type of combination of 5 between Pope, Wiggins, Austin, Moore, Williams and Thompson. Especially the first five very realistic IMO.
I don't expect Copeland or Watkins at Miami but I'm sure Miami would make room for one if one wanted in.
I know I know I have not mentioned Hightower. Brooklyn, I know he's your nephew but for me personally. I have to see it to believe it regarding our presence within IMG.
I really like Jatavious but I get the feel the staff will stay local.
Schwartz is definitely a kid you keep tabs on.
5 is an absolute max. No way we get 6 WRs even if one is an athlete (especially since we're already taking 7+ DBs). Getting 5 would already make 1/5th of our class receivers, and that doesn't even include the 2 TEs we need.
Pope and Wiggins seem like we can already count them as apart of this class. And Xavier Williams will likely be guaranteed a spot. Seems to me the last spot or 2 is between Hightower, Thompson, Copeland, and Austin. Moore isn't needed in this class right after we got Thomas and Harley.
Again it will be difficult to get a full class of 25 this year, so over 5 WRs seems crazy to me. If we got 6 WRs this yr, we'd only be able to get like 1 in 2019.
This. Having more than 12 WR's on a roster is mismanagement. I don't care how talented they are. Only so many of them can be on the field.
This is especially true when you're recruiting slam dunks like Pope, Williams, and Jeff Thomas types. This isn't a scenario where were taking 6 and hoping 4 of them are legit.
We aint carrying 12 WRs. Frankly, i think 9 WRs is enough for 2-3 spots and 10 WRs is max.
By the time 2018 season begins, Harris, Langham, and Berrios will have graduated or transferred, DJ Dallas will be at RB, and Njoku will be at TE.
Our returning WR corps will be Richards, Mullins, Cager, Thomas, and Harley. That leaves room for 5 WRs.
