Auburn's D attacked, disguised stunts and biltzes really well, mixed it up with all kinds of looks that befuddled FSU's OLine. I want some of that.
I may be crazy, but wasnt Auburn ranked BELOW us in Defense for much of this season?
option 1 is the better option, sabans defenses are good because he teaches one thing and gets players that fit that.. al is trying to do the same thing, while realizing that we were going to take some lumps defensively until everything is in place.I think it is a viable option to either (1) recruit players that work for your system or (2) adjust your system/scheme to your personnel.
Nick Saban is a prime example of option 1. Gus Malzahn is a prime example of option 2. Both very successful coaches.
The problem for Miami is that Golden and his defensive coordinator aren't in the same ballpark as Saban so they shouldn't be attempting option 1. And unfortunately, it sounds as if they are unwilling to try option 2...
