And our upperclass personnel sucked.

Meanwhile, Auburn's DC says "I've never been married to the system. ... you have to be married to your personnel."

We were told it was going to be "players not plays" when Al took over. This coming season will be the test of whether he is full of **** or not. Personally I think he would have changed already if he ever was going to.

Our staff's best idea of conforming the system to their talent was having Shayon Greene and Thurston Armbrister covering slot WRs.

We're in good hands.

Ellis Johnson - Defensive Coordinator

32 years college coaching experience, 17 as a defensive coordinator
Head coach at Southern Miss, The Citadel, Gardner-Webb
Additional experience at Clemson, Mississippi State, Alabama, South Carolina, Appalachian State
Alma Mater: The Citadel, 1975

Ellis Johnson can field a good defense, but he is a grade A Douchebag. I've had conversations with him, dude is very two faced. Him and Urban Meyer could hang out to see who is more worthless.

Almost every good coach is an *******. Jimmy Johnson is the biggest prick to ever lace 'em up. No one cared. Know why? Because he's OUR prick. Winners can do whatever the **** they want.

I may be crazy, but wasnt Auburn ranked BELOW us in Defense for much of this season?

I think it is a viable option to either (1) recruit players that work for your system or (2) adjust your system/scheme to your personnel.

Nick Saban is a prime example of option 1. Gus Malzahn is a prime example of option 2. Both very successful coaches.

The problem for Miami is that Golden and his defensive coordinator aren't in the same ballpark as Saban so they shouldn't be attempting option 1. And unfortunately, it sounds as if they are unwilling to try option 2...

Dan, I know what you mean, but this dude is a different breed. He's more like a D'Onofrio D-bag, but has a better defense. Jimmy was KOCKy and could back it up. Ellis Johnson failed miserably as a head coach. Jimmy wasn't a snake oil salesman...Ellis Johnson is.

Yeah he said that repeatedly, we have 4-3 personnell that he's trying to make a 3-4 defense. It's not working but he continues to do it. Pruitt realized it wasn't working at f$U and changed early in the season and we saw the results.

Auburn has the worst defense of any team to appear in a BCS game, not the title game. Any BCS bowl game.

That's gonna be the deciding factor in tonight's game. Auburn's D is not that good, despite having pretty good amounts of talent.
