Attrition

Was David Thompson ever actually on a football schollie, and did he ever even step foot on the practice field? If iirc, most sites didn't even list him as a football commit.

He was for the 2012 season, but came off it when he made the permanent switch in the summer of 2013.

Excuse me sir, you have a curse word in your signature and considering the profanity filter on this website thought I'd bring it to your attention as it is very offensive. Thank you.

This happens at every school, every year. Between injuries, personal reasons, discipline, grades, playing time, and bad evaluations - every class is going to have some losses.

2 years from now 4-5 players from the 2014 won't be here for one reason or another. Just how it is

Check Stanford. They have nowhere near the attrition that we have.

I know, I know. Somehow they don't count. 3, 2, 1

I think that's the only guy you can count out or excuse. I mean did anyone actually think he was gonna be a Cane football player? I think Golden was helping out the baseball team.

I remember watching signing day a few years ago and they were talking about the effect of the recruiting sanctions against USC and how they could only sign 15 players per class. Oregon AD and former HC Mike Belotti was on there and he talked about what a HC considers a successful class. He said they considered a class successful if 15 of the 25 players you sign, actually make an impact on the 2 deep in their careers. I thought it was crazy to assume 10 guys wouldn't be on the team within 2-3 seasons, but he said that all kinds of things happen(grades, misbehavior, talent, etc) and you know it going in. Which is why he said the recruiting sanctions were so harsh against USC because they had to hit on every single player in those classes. They couldn't afford to miss on a single guy.

I don't think Crow will leave before this season. He should be graduating in May and then the coaches can push him out the door before next season. They're not going to push him out when he is close to graduating just to free up one scholarship, when it appears they'll be at least 4-5 under this season.
