Attention Irrational/Rational, Insane/Sane, even Maniacal...

Good work. I would point out though that AG has said multiple times that he wants an aggressive defense. I'm also quite certain that, if asked and answered (which I doubt he would come out and do specifically), he'd also say that the safety position needs a serious infusion of talent. So, the hypothetical of AG continuing with a conservative defense combined with not fixing the safety issues really doesn't seem very likely to me. He's a smart guy. I have no clue what he's going to do, but I do believe that the defense we see now is not what he wants it to be, both schematically and from a talent and depth perspective. I think we'll see changes to the overall 'aggressiveness' as the talent is upgraded. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I haven't had the chance to read through it all yet, but I scrolled to the bottom to find this:

If Miami decides to continue with the conservative defense while refusing to fix the Safety issues that were evident to anyone watching a game over the last 5 weeks, the defense will improve as the talent/experience upgrades. Unfortunately, it will never be better than mediocre.

With all due respect, haven't you and your crew of a half dozen just spent the last month arguing against this very point? I'll look through the support later, but that's an abrupt reversal. I mean, credit if so, as I'm always impressed by a self-callout.

TardCity's been on here railing against us for a couple weeks claiming Corch Duh is being screwed by a dearth of talent.

P.S. If Emily Lilly is clapping for it, I know it's junk.

Make assumptions if you want thats fine, but if you read it maybe your opinion of me would be different.

I did do a reversal, I actually started out to prove one thing then I found what I consider the main reason we suck.

That is actually why I wrote it and I actually took out more of the support because I thought it was getting way too long already.

I appreciate that.

Most agree talent is an issue but either Golden or most likely the DC, because he is responsible for the personnel on the field, made some mind boggling decisions that have confused the players at the safety position and contributed to the defense being horrible instead of mediocre.

If you look at Miami's 2011 defense SS was #3 in tackles, 2010 #3 in tackles, 2009 #4 in tackles, 2008 #2 in tackles, 2007 #2 in tackles, Temples 2010 #1 in tackles.

3 safeties have played both safety positions in 2013 and 4 rotated to both positions in 2012. That is a recipe for horrible defense.

I see C Thomas as the guy who succeeds Chickillo not as the Rush End as you have him......
Otherwise, ****.....

You could put Jackson there instead of C Thomas because Thomas is a big kid already so behind Chick would be fine too. I just thought he might see more time his Freshman year at that spot(could move the following year) but I wouldnt see a problem with that.

I give you props for the effort. But, man, you did make an abrupt 180.

It's a symptom of the core issue.

I commend the 180....its what more folks need to do...

Comparing numbers of "top defenses" from different leagues isn't convincing, but you clearly know a **** of a lot more than i do about football.
Since we all know AG WILL NOT fire D'onofrio (and he will not be offered anything that could be construed as a step up the ladder) I hope he is able to implement a more effective rotation with better horses and less mules next year.
I definitely agree that our D looks too slow to cover and all the strength doesn't help their tackling technique.

Thanks QCC
