As Poorly as He's Played...

He's due for a big game and dammit I hope it's to row night!

I hope it's also true which ever poster posted his stats from the first 7 games and last 7 how he really became Morris and got that 1st round potential love!! We need him to show up

I agree, Morris needs to run the ball, no doubt about it.
Stephen Morris is one stellar game away from putting himself back in the mix for being a 1st day draft pick. If he runs the offense well, moves the chains, hits an occasional big play and avoids turnovers tomorrow he can, in my opinion, undo all of the negative pub he's gotten this season.

As well, I think for UM to have a shot at winning tomorrow, Stephen Morris MUST have at least 50 - 60 rushing yards.

Thoughts???

Hit the short routes, don't throw interceptions, don't take unnecessary sacks because of phantom pressure. Easy.

Against Florida we had 50 yards rushing, this is the best D we have faced since that game. I don't expect us to run wild on them, without that 300 yard game and a few TD's passing it's going to be a long day. Morris needs to play his best game of the year and also run when nobody is open or when he can. Our offensive line better show up too, they haven't played up to their ability yet. Turnovers can't happen if we are to have a shot. QUOTE=Consigliere;1653470]Move the ball, don't turn it over, complete passes and repeat. That is it, I am not asking for a big game with 4 touchdowns and 300 yards. Just move the ball, hit a high % of passes and no turnovers. Unless FSU shuts DOWN our run game, I just want Morris to be smart and efficient.[/QUOTE]

Kids go to UM to kick the **** outa UF, FSU, PSU, OSU, ND, AL...as fans we wait patiently to yell like crazy kids for our favorite players...Morris will be yelled at either way...he gets a say in what is yelled..get em kid

The one thing that has always stood out to me more than anything about Morris, including the absurd arm strength, is that he is a feisty competitor. When he came in and lead the late charge against Notre Dame as a freshman, he looked like he was the only guy on the field that gave a ****. He gets a little bratty with the receivers sometimes, but all great QBs do. Bottom line is that this is a bunker game, and this is the type of guy I want in my bunker. Don't give a **** how he has played coming in, because these are the types of guys that have the ability to step up when the chips are down.

And he has been absolutely on the money late in the game, despite all his shortcomings.

I had forgotten about that, he was very feisty that game

Are you talking to me? The original post said 50 yards rushing by the QB not in general.

I don't think Morris needs 50 yards rushing, or 300 passing. He needs to manage the game. FSU is going to dare him to throw, load the box to stop Duke and Dallas. They are going to creep Joyner up to the line to blitz a bunch. They have 19 sacks, but only 4 or 5 from the line. They blitz. Morris needs to recognize and check down. If he throws those lollipops off his back foot with no velocity they are going to get picked all day.

For us to have a legit shot at winning, a fair line for Morris will be 60-65% completion, 200+ yards, ZERO picks, 1-2 TD's. He needs to run the clock down as far as he can and keep **** off the field. Again, manage the game and win the TOP.
