I just watched this entire game against Carol Cityand I can honestly rate sitkowski. I think they're live streaming games for IMG via YouTube all season.
- The best ball IMG threw all night was thrown by their punter on a fake punt with the lead. Sitkowski did throw a LASER with a second left on the clock before halftime. I think the receiver was out but refs called it good. It wasn't hightower who caught it BTW.
- Sitkowski isn't ****** with Perry in overall arm strength or throwing on the run but he can run an effective RPO.
- I do think the offense they ran tonight was very vanilla. Don't know if both teams planned it this way for a jamboree or not.
- Sitkowski's running scared the **** out of me. He doesn't slide at all. Doesn't protect his ribs or legs he is way faster than he looks tho.
- He did make two TERRIBLE int's that made me question his awareness in the pocket.

Overall, I give Perry the edge. But sit can effectively run a run option or RPO but he's not better than Perry arm wise.

Love to hear your thoughts

He was "ok" not great. Anyone who thought he is a polished product is wrong. He went to IMG to get exposure and training playing with and against D1 talent. Hopefully he develops if he doesn't u still need backup QBs and Scout team QBs.

But criticizing recruits HS games, saying our commits suck before they ever even sign. That's some Gator-level stuff.

How can he run an "effective" Run Pass Option if he can't pass worth a s.hlt?

If a defense loads the box taking away the run opinion and he still can't get the ball to the wrs, how is that being effective?

Wait, but he has offers, that means he's good. Right? Right? Offers is all that really matters. We know this because that is the reason Shirreffs is not worthy of being here. So, Sits has offers, so he is good.

Seriously, though, he's a high school kid playing in his first jamboree with his new team, with a center that can't snap the ball. Personally, I'd take him at QB over the FSU commit at center. He has ability, but needs to be coached up and learn the system. He very well could sit a couple years behind Perry, and I'd be absolutely fine with that. By the time he redshirts and Perry leaves, Sitkowski will be 20 years old. He won't be the same player he is now.

I believe having a real OC might help him.

Perry can't beat out noodle arm & the int machine. How about we pump the breaks on all QB's before they actually do something AT MIAMI.

precisely.

and that is what richt has concluded, or he would not have been so aggressive in deciding this was the guy he wanted for this class.

one other thing that bodes well for sitkowski and richt's decision: look how much progress shirreffs has made under richt's coaching. he's a significantly improved QB compared to what he was when he arrived on campus, and is likely to be the starting QB in 2 weeks.

artur sitkowski played well, he has a quick release. There were moments where I was like WTF but I understand that he is not a finished product. He will be OK, I agree with you that Perry was better at that stage much better but kid will eventually get better.

He looked like who I thought he was--a one read and run guy who can't calmly process information during the heat of a real football game. You graveyard whistlers can excuse away his horrible numbers in New Jersey, but he looks a lot like that same guy.

There are things you can coach and things you can't. Just because a dude is big and has a strong arm doesn't mean you can coach him into a good marquee P5 QB. So much of being a good QB at this level is the ability to handle pressure and process information. Same reason I cautioned against expecting a true freshmans QB to come in here and start this year.

You guys get too enamored with watching guys work out at these camps. There's almost no parallel between that stuff and playing great QB at the high P5 level.

Look at a guy like Baker Mayfield as Exhibit A. No one wanted him before he walked on at Texas Tech, and he had to sell himself to Poops at OU. Yet he's a super QB because he processes info quickly and has that innate sense in the pocket of when to move. You chant teach that stuff.

Rick has been spotty, especially his last few years at UGA, evaluating QBs and WRs. He's had some huge misses. He was cool on Deshaun Watson yet he loved Bryce Ramsey. Pickowski looks like a Miss to me. Maybe he'll get a lot better. We'll see.

Who said he sucked? Not me.

The box was loaded but they still ran their play into multiple stacked fronts and still got a push. Sometimes 2-3 times in a row.

take a breathe

first game ever as a QB in a pro-style offense

lets give it a few games.

obviously the nay sayers don't trust CMR's eye for talent

I stated clearly this was a jamboree and possibly very vanilla but there's tape to evaluate and I did that. I'm also currently breathing lol. I have zero issues with sit. I simply evaluated something that's not a highlight tape.

If you take it a step further, how many of these 4/5 start QBs have gone onto the NFL AND been successful? Jameis looks like the lone 5-star that has made it and looks like he could have a solid career. But as you mentioned, these camps over hype a lot of QBs - such as Art. I saw bits of the game last night, and yes, the center for IMG sucks (I hope FSU doesn't drop him). Having said that, the reads that Sit made were not the best and that highlight TD throw before halftime could've easily have been picked off.

He wasn't good at his last HS. From a physical standpoint he looks like an All American though. I think he can improve, but I also don't think he's the answer at QB this cycle. Hopefully the staff can get on better prospect

The way Perry is described on this board makes me think he's the best qb we've ever had lmao, dude is good but clearly not enough yet to beat out Evan or Malik. Let sit play out his senior season so you have an actual better understanding of him and not just a one game sample.
