Arrest made in Carson Beck auto theft case

I’m putting my money on him snitching.
Right or wrong, that is likely what his attorney will recommend so as to reduce the punishment. And frankly, if I was the prosecutor I would want to know who is wiling to buy the high end cars.

Years ago I repped a group of car thieves. The organization was fairly sophisticated in that they would be informed which cars to target. They then had paid people who worked in large parking lots, an airport for example, so that when that car was parked, my clients would get a call.
My guys were not violent, and didn’t carry guns, but a situation can become violent very quickly, especially when entering a home.

I repped another guy who shot and killed a young man as he and a few friends were going thru my client’s car which was parked in the driveway. The fear was the garage door opener which was in the car, would lead to a home invasion. My client shot and killed one of the thieves from his upstairs bedroom window. We won this case.
That's a **** of a shot. Can he play QB?

In NY criminals just have to promise to be good and there set free

Not when I was younger. You committed a crime, you went through the system.

Today, you can do almost anything in NYC. Yeah, they'll process you, but the judge will ROR you (release on recognizance) , or even worse, a cop will write a DOT (desk appearance ticket).

This is why the city is polluted with recidivists, and the quality of life is in the toilet.

Cops bust criminals, and usually charge accordingly. DAs get the case, and reduce the charges, usually offering insane plea bargains (slaps on the wrist). This is how they cook the crime stats and numbers. They basically reduce felonies to misdemeanors (or throw the case out entirely) and say, "look, crime is down." LOL. Been doing this for decades. They use this stupid system called "comp stat." In theory it's awesome, but in practice it's a crock of ****. Ultimately, you have to trust cops, lawyers, and politicians, lol. GMAFB.

I want to laugh at your comment because it’s frankly funny.

But I’m conflicted as I was with all the self defense killings that I successfully defended.
The deceased was only about 19 so still young and stupid. But he was “Bleeding” (wearing all red) and had a handgun. The taking of a life, even when completely justified, is complicated.

Sorry to bring you down. I still laughed when I read your comment.
