I just don't like putting true vocal leaders and the "football player" types at WR or CB. Just put the best athletes there. Safety is a position for an alpha/vocal guy like Deejay. It's hard to lead as a WR or CB. I think he could be an Ed Reed type guy in terms of being the alpha dog of the D, directing traffic, and just using pure instincts. Add in the fact that it's his fastest path to the field.

I loved this pickup but his speed concerns me now i thought he was a rangy safety because i trusted petes word. But that film he looked slow....fast for hs though

Amari does not have elite speed but he is pretty fluid, a good tackler and he's always around the ball in the film. He's more of a SS than a FS.

But yeah. I would like a faster rangier type like ***an. At least Amari isn't a LB type like Jamal Carter. Carter's stiff, slow and goes for the killshot instead of playing the ball.

D,the safeties we're targeting for the 18 class seem to be fast,FS types so I don't have a problem with us signing a few hard hitting inbox types in this class.Unless we have another collapse and just blow it with the DBs next year we should be loaded in the secondary by 2018 with fast,physsical DBs.

I don't think we have a true ball hawking safety on our roster or committed in this class!!!!! Maybe that's the pitch for getting more of those 18 db's to come
