Are Finley, Gibson and now Carter all box safeties?

After can play anywhere and will start out as a FS. Gibson might redshirt. Finley may win a starting job imo.

I see Finley moving to LB, Gibson can play in the box but is still solid in the passing game. (Better than Jamal Carter obviously) and Amari Carter is the best of the 3 in that area but he also lays the boom like Gibson. Great frame to build on. He's similar to Eric Reid in terms of playing style.

Amari looks like he can play with range and in the box.

But OP's question brings out a greater point with the defense.

We need to stop recruiting the box types like JAMAL Carter. We need to take guys that are solid tacklers but with more emphasis on range and ball hawking ability.

Carter is a complete safety. He has the range to cover and has what you want in terms of playing on near the line. Now he isn't as rangy as say Wright, but he is still rangy enough.

I hope that is their plan for Deejay Dallas

Yeah and then we get torn up by a Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech because of missed tackles in the secondary and we all freak out about not recruiting physical players.

Where did I say don't recruit guys that can tackle?

Your idiotic post aside.

Ed Reed was not a thumper. I think we would do just fine with 2 Ed Reed types don't you?

Coaches tried, they went all out after ***an and Wright but both love FSU.Carter was the next best option.

My bad. I will edit my post. By box safety I mean Jamal Carter.

I like Amari Carter as an all around player. I would like another just like him.

***an would have been hot. We need to find another ***an type.

I think most here are sleeping on their athletic ability .

Exactly. Just cause they hit doesn't mean they don't cover ground too

Agree. They act like these two are Ray Ray's or Carters , they actually have good hips and move well in space . They just bring the boom

Amari had 2 picks at the Paradise camp in the 7 on 7 portion. He was one of the best ballhawks there. Actually probably THE best.
