AQM & Williams

LSU is taking Bain at DT. Who's to say they aren't making a mistake with Williams too?

Do you feel confident with us getting Williams?

The people I talk to in Louisiana think he's coming here. I still will stay on the cautious side until he actually makes the visit. He's had 3 trips set up to Miami but didn't make it to any of them.

Unofficials though...that just strikes me as a finance issue.

But yet he can make it to Tally?

Do you own a map?

Baton Rouge to Tally = 5-6 hours

BR to Miami= 13 hrs

I know the distance, go look up the prices, Tally's airport is a much smaller airport, which means it's more expensive to fly into.

edit- relax with the name calling.

Maybe one of them could play WOLB in the 3-4 as well... for example DeMarcus Ware type of player.

seems to me that Williams is pretty overrated. honestly I haven't seen much tape but he looks tiny and it seems that L$U is letting him go

Saban is recruiting him hard. That's all I need to know about his potential

LSU is "letting him go" because they've got other guys who fit their system better.

Outside his size (would benefit from a RS) reports have been positive on him this week at UA practice.

There's no doubt he's tiny, but he's still an explosive edge rusher. Like I said in the OP, good chance he redshirts.

That would be huge. When was the last time Miami was able to land a 4 star or higher on the DL and RS him? Can't even think of one name. Guys like Bailey, MRob, Chickillo, Forston, etc were all forced to play as freshman. How much better would we feel about Chickillo if this past season was his first year playing? Instead he is going into his third year with many questioning his ability.

He is visiting LSU for official and he has shown minimal interest in them.

At the end of the day, we targeted Williams from the very beginning. Identified him early and went after him hard. Clearly, our staff think highly of Williams and I don't like losing out on prospects that a guy like Golden wants badly.

I don't know...it's worrisome that LSU is letting a highly ranked kid from their campus leave....it's just odd. It makes me worry about a Greg Bryant situation where everyone outside of the area thinks more highly about a kid and the locals know the real deal.

In an ideal world nearly all DL recruits would redshirt, because of our depth issues that just hasn't been a possibility. In a perfect world Chick would be going into his redshirt soph. year and McCrod would be a rshirt freshman. Moore and Ivery would also be redshirt freshman, and Pierre a redhsirt soph. The coaching staff didn;t have any other options but to play the young guys before they were ready.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to find it, it's so small. You can fly right past it. If you do, you might as well keep going to Miami. It's much harder to miss the Miami airport, because if you overshoot it, you see ocean underneath you, so you know to turn around quick. Miss Tallahassee and all you see below you is towns like Live Oak or Sopchoppy. You have no idea where you are.
