This is dead on. Looks like the guy, unfortunately, picked the wrong system. The artificial weight kills him. But I think at this point -- I could be wrong -- that they push him the other way. I think he'll bulk up even more and move inside.

McCord saw plenty of playing in the second qtr as well.

He was on the outside covering the slot receiver and they ran it to his side play after play with #23 blowing him up on the block for uva first downs.

He has to get better at engaging and shedding those blocks. It will make him a more complete linebacker.

My point was not directly at you than with you. He had a good freshman year, made a play vs GT in OT last year and played well vs U***. Other than that he has been a JAG

I honestly think our coaches looked at the schedule and decided to stick with what was safe hoping to sneak into the ACCCG. I think the last two games of this year will be very telling. If we see different personnel groups (younger, more talented guys) and more aggressive schemes, then I will assume that was the case and at least maintain some hope of change next year.

Fair enough. I guess with all thats wrong with this team, Chick is one of the last guys I would complain about but thats just me. Kid was a ******* warrior during the biggest win we have had in a decade. Yeah the season has changed as both teams have gone along, but the kid still had that day and I would shake his ******* hand every time I see him just for what he did that day.

Y'all do realize that chick has to take on blocks pretty much and just hold the edge right? Not like he's ever shooting a gap or even really being asked to pin back and rush the passer. Chick does the dirty work for this defense & the casual fan just sees it as Chick is big and slow(yes he's a step slower) and not making plays. Go back and watch games and focus on what Chick is asked to do all game long. Just my 2 cents though.

Not agreeing with the prior statement and dont know if that was his point but is it impossible for Kamalu to be better suited to handle what is being asked of the position than Chickillo? I think all agree Chick is being asked to do something that really doesnt fit his skillset.

Its an important question I don't think any of us can answer just yet. I mean we put a lot of our eggs in the Kamalu basket so if he doesn't pan out that's pretty much a kill shot for recruiting that position that year. Would be devastating.

Maybe it was because this way his first game action at OLB in the 11th game of the season....You would think a guy with that much talent would have gotten some reps against SF, SSU, and FAU. My bad TC was holding it down :ibisroflmao:
