How much of a contender will Miami be to UGA and the other finalists for Josh Harvey-Clemons?

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound linebacker from Lowndes High School will announce his highly-anticipated decision at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday on national TV. Harvey-Clemons is the state’s No. 1-ranked prospect, according to ESPN.

What about Miami? For the record, they are co-leaders with UGA, Florida and FSU. But the Hurricanes may have some catching up to do if you listen to Woodrow Clemons, the grandfather and legal guardian of the 5-star prospect.

Clemons has ranked the recruiting trips to UGA, Florida and FSU as an “8â€￾ on a scale of 1-10. What about this weekend’s visit to Miami? “Overall, I’d probably give them a 7, well a 6 or a 7.â€￾

“We enjoyed our trip down there. But I guess at this point, pretty much all of them are about the same. There wasn’t anything about Miami that was any different than the other schools, other than the academics. The scholastic level down there is better than the rest of them. But with the football program, they seem like they are on a different level than Florida, Georgia and Florida State. They compare a little different down there.â€￾

We asked Clemons for a “hintâ€￾ on which school that Josh may pick: “Tuesday night, we’ll sit down and talk about it – me, my wife and Josh. There’s no other contact or calls with the colleges that we’ll have. The questions have been answered. We have to talk, and then Josh has just got to utter the words out of his mouth on Wednesday morning.â€￾

Memo to Mark Richt, Jimbo Fisher, Will Muschamp and Al Golden: Harvey-Clemons can’t take your phone calls over the next couple of days.

That’s because Josh lost his phone at the Fat Tuesday’s restaurant during his official visit to Miami, according to his grandfather. “We lost it there, and went back to get it later that night and the place was closed,â€￾ Clemons said. ‘The Miami coaches said they would help get the phone back to us.â€￾

The AJC Super 11 selection and his family are ready for recruiting to be over. “Josh has enjoyed the visits and meeting everybody, but he’s ready to get it over,â€￾ Clemons said. “We’re all excited that Wednesday is coming up so we can go ahead and close this chapter and move on to other things.â€￾

Great move by the coaching staff to steal his phone so we get the last word. Also I think he is all UGA.

I like how he says we are on a different level that those schools in a seemingly negative way when we have a richer history than all 3 of them.

It's has been a decade since we were relevant. We have never won our division in the ACC. It's sad, but true.

Yeah, i don't understand that comment.

I took that to be a positive comment. He thinks that UM's football program just seems to be on a different level. My guess is that Golden is better at selling the UM brand than muschump is the uf attempt at brand or Gumbo Fisher and the old bobby bowden brand. lol

Yet he rated the visit a 6 or 7 compared to an 8 for all the others..

We need better context it's that "But" word that is throwing everyone off cause i read it as a negative as well

We have better academics, hands down, he said. Our football program must be really shabby to him if we were a 6 or 7 compared to the other 8's. Woodrow is a tough grader.

Yeah, like we have as many National Titles as all of them combined.
